1AM closing on the books again

Yesterday all bars where given a letter advising that 1am closing maybe introduced, due to many complaints being received about numerous establishments flaunting the 2am closing time. I don't understand why the bars which close religiously at 2am every night, should be punished for the misdeeds of others.

Let's all hope that this one blows over as the other previous threats of early closing have done, but I must admit, I am abit nervous about this one.

Looks like they are trying to kill all the nightlife in Patong. I wish there would bee a good way to make the goverment understand that they will loose money in the long term by doing this. :aao:

Hope you are ok. Long time no speak. Did you have a good time?
Maybe now you hear this, then it might be good luck you didnt get a bar after all? I dont know how people make money from it. I know some bars are really good, but some are really really quiet. It looks as if they have people, but if you take the bar girls away maybe they have only one or two people!

p.s. Is your right arm sore now that Tik is not in Norway with you ?

Local Hotels have banded together to file a complaint, reason they are pissed off is because they are losing money that would normally be spent in the hotel at those hours.

Plans to tap Thaksin’s B100bn promise


PHUKET: The Phuket provincial government plans to ask Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra for funding for projects to aid Phuket’s development during the PM’s visit to Phuket on August 26 and 27 as part of his tour of the South.


Hopefully then just will be short lived to keep the PM happy!
