aids rate in china?

Except for 2 provinces, Henan and Yunnan, AIDS is extremely rare in China. That said, it's growing rapidly. If I remember correctly, they had about 600,000 cases of HIV with a population of about 1.3+ billion. Compare this with the USA which has about 1.2 million cases with a population of 300 million. The odds of him getting AIDS though are pretty friggin low... Other diseases though, like chlamydia and gonnorhea are pretty common.

A friend and I picked up some girls and my friends condom broke. He is freaking out and kind of blames me for it ( long story on that). Anyhow we went to a western clinic a few days later so he could get an aids test and the doctor laughed at him and said he doesnt need an aids test , aids is very uncommon in beijing. However he didnt tell the doctor he was with a whore. The test came back negative but he claims it wouldnt even show for 6 months. Anyone know if aids is common in chinese whores so I can put my friends fears to rest? He is really down about it.
