Sadie Kolves alleges that she was sexually assaulted by a masseuse in DFW Airport during a layover.
GRAPEVINE, Texas — A masseuse at a spa inside DFW Airport has been arrested after a woman alleged that he assaulted her during a massage on August 11th.
"I remember thinking, like, is this really happening," Sadie Kolves told WFAA in a zoom interview.
Kolves, who lives in Florida, said she was in Idaho Falls for a work-related trip and flew home on the Sept. 11 through DFW. While waiting for her flight in Terminal C, Kolves said she went for a pedicure and massage at a spa inside the airport called SpaHere.
Her masseuse, Zantana Zuniga, was arrested weeks later on an indecent assault charge, according to his arrest affidavit recently obtained by WFAA. It included photos of her bruised upper thigh and described how Kolves told detectives Zuniga “grabbed and groped her buttocks” during the massage, and moved “the sheet that normally covers private areas" “exposing her underwear.” She said Zuniga touched “right up to” her groin, groping her so aggressively “she could hardly walk.”
"I was alone," Kolves told WFAA. "There was nobody there. During the whole thing, I kept thinking 'am I gonna get raped, am I gonna get raped, am I gonna be able to go home?'"
Zuniga's arrest warrant reveals several other pending investigations.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation “has five investigations” into Zuniga, according to the warrant, one of which has been closed, and four of which are still pending. The warrant says those investigations “were opened for either sexual assault or inappropriate touching during a massage.”
"I'm not going to sleep well until I know that he's not licensed," Kolves said.
Despite his arrest for Kolves’ assault, Zuniga’s license "has not yet been suspended or revoked," the department confirmed to WFAA Sunday night. Kolves believes she is obligated to share her story until that happens.
"I know that the more people that come forward, the more they can get done. Because my fear is that as long as he's licensed, he's still able to practice, which means there still could be another victim."
A spokesperson for DFW airport said they defer all questions to the spa because it operates “separately" from the airport. SpaHere has not responded to our requests for comment. WFAA left voicemails and texts for numbers associated with Zuniga but have not yet heard back.
Kolves posted a TikTok about her experience in advance of the arrest.
"He has four pending investigations against him and then he does it again, do you think he's scared?" Kolves said in her TikTok. "He is obviously not scared enough with what's happening and I cannot allow there to be a sixth."
Kolves also claims that SpaHere is deleting reviews in which she posted pictures of bruises she sustained during the alleged assault.
