The intergration of complementary medicine in Primary Health Care - Does it work?

I was at a regional conference earlier today for the General Osteopathic Council and one of the speakers referred to this new pilot study, so thought I'd dig it up.

The company are a non profit organisation with the single mission of getting complementary health care into intergrated into the mainstream and the NHS. One can only wish them luck.

IMO I do not think it is our role to work as a stopgap for a failing health care system, they should in all seriousness acknowledge their narrow perspective and shortcomings on healthcare and be prepared to advise people to go and look for alternative therapies themselves as this is generally known as being self empowered.

Mind you for some people we are the primary health care providers and we have to serially bully them into going to see a doctor when it seems necessary ;-)
