SPRINGFIELD, IL—Several massage parlors in Springfield were closed today for failing to abide by the City’s massage establishment ordinance. The Springfield Police Department, Springfield Public Works Department, and City outreach coordinators worked together on developments related to this investigation, which was conducted based on information from various sources.

Demonstrating a commitment to working closely with law enforcement and partner agencies, we are focused on ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and addressing community concerns related to these establishments. Developments regarding the closure of the massage establishments were made today as part of this ongoing effort.

City enforcement efforts remain ongoing, and further details cannot be shared at this time. The City of Springfield appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this matter continues to be addressed.
