Current Patong Closing Times

I want this as a new thread so that people can easily reference it rather than the old one.:intello:

Last night I was down Bangla and the Poilce were out in force and all bars and clubs were closed at 2am. They even closed Tum's Bar in Soi Sea Dragon.It is also one of the first times that the Kangaroo closed early!!.h:

This has happened for the last few days because of the political turmoil in Bangkok.:info:

Can confirm this. Anyone know how long this is due to last?

I would say this is set to last until Thailand has a solid democratic base so from 1 week to 300 years or anyones guess. But on a serious note if the authorities allow this kind of thing in international airports etc. Closing time won't matter because only the staff will be there and the odd expat. I know that tourists where not really in any danger at hkt today but think about a first time visitor to Thailand. The airport has been overrun in their mind that could mean mortal danger. Hope it all ends soon without any bloodshed.

Haven't read or heard much about the latest actions in Bangkok or HKT(maybe I should :| ) but I hope they get things running smoothly soon.
If the police and government want to keep strickt line with the bars we can keep in mind that the earlier we go to bed, the earlier we can enjoy the days first beer and for once be in time at the hotels breakfast table.

not linked to PAD this is seperate and was planned before the protests BKK police in town, i left town and came to Pattaya where there are no such problems.

You are right - I heard later it was a special team down for Bangkok.:erf:

Yeah was a special team down to ensure "lights off" everywhere - so dumb here in Pattaya it's still happening at 8am ! Only good side was skipping town a day early and missing the airport chaos by an hour.
