Do drug users have an inclination to introduce non-drug users into drugs?

Like when a bunch of friends are sitting around, getting high or whatever and some havent been high before, there is 'peer pressure', they want their other friends to be in on it. I know this is not always the case but why is there often this inclination.

Definitely. They want to turn others on to what they are doing so that they will have more company doing it.

Also, people who are high don't really like to hang around people that aren't high, because they don't feel like the other people are "on their level," so to speak.

no and yes. my friend doesnt smoke weed , i do, when ever he comes over we chill and i smoke, he doesnt mind , i dont pure pressure him, hes recently smoked so now i dont smoke infront of him, knowing he will prob start doing it often .. hes smart because i keep it 100 and give him REAL facts, so he made his own decision,.. i also occasionally pop pills ( ecstasy ) and he offerd to buy one from me for 30 ( pills go for 10 , hes never took x before ) and i refused... i also explained why, and exactly how the drug works .... so in some circumstances its a good thing to have a friend who does drugs then a " friend " .. if you know what i mean
