“My husband Russ and I bring over two decades of operations and retail leadership experience to our new endeavor with The NOW,” said McWhorter. “When Russ and I first met, we both had the desire to own our own business. We wanted the extra hours and energy we spend on work to result in something we could call our own and eventually pass the business along to our son.

The NOW uses canvas draping to separate therapy spaces and soothes customers with sounds of ocean waves. Natural wood surfaces and exposed beams are accented with sheep skins, cactus galleries and crystal grids. “All the elements are aligned to form the ultimate zen environment for optimum relaxation,” explained The NOW Public Relations Manager Cody Larkin.

“As El Dorado Hills and Folsom residents ourselves, giving back to our local communities inspires us,” insisted Kuckenbaker. “Self-care is becoming increasingly important to incorporate into one’s daily routine and from the moment we were introduced to The NOW Massage, we knew we wanted to bring next level healing to the El Dorado Hills community.”

Massage therapists at The NOW receive advanced training designed specifically for stress relief, relaxation and muscle recovery that goes beyond traditional modalities.

Guests can choose between three signature Swedish-inspired massage styles including a relaxation massage, an energy-balancing massage designed to reduce stress and a sports recovery massage. Custom enhancements can be paired with services such as herbal heat therapy, deep tissue, fresh eyes, calm balm, hemp calm balm and gua sha, a traditional Chinese medicine technique that uses smooth rose quartz tools to target specific areas of the body.
