Has anyone seen this scam email???

I have recently received an email from a girl claiming to be the daughter of a military big shot. Says she will be in town between Nov 26 and Dec ? Wants daily massages and her dad will "get in touch" to discuss. I am fairly certain it is a scam, but will just ask for payment in full prior to sessions to be sure it's not. I just wanted to see if anyone else received emails like this???

Any request for money orders or wire transfers for payment can be determined a scam 99% of the time. If you respond, they might keep pestering you. I would just ignore it. If it's not a scam and they were serious about booking with you, they'd call, right? I haven't seen an email like this but I suggest going on the NCBTMB website. They post well-known email scams.

Has anyone seen this scam email???

I have received two such emails. One from a person claiming to be a massage therapist in Italy and that he was looking for someone to provide massage to his International Supermodel client while she is in the states. Even provided the name of a real Italian model. ....and another from a woman who said her athletic daughter would be coming into town and required daily massage. These came through email from my craigslist advertisement(I usually opt not to receive emails through my ads, but forgot to do so this time). I immediately recognized these as scams and deleted them.

It's a scam. They'll *always* pay upfront, but it will be more than your rate. Then they'll want you to send them the balance (what they 'overpaid'). The check they send will be worthless and youwill be left with having to make it up, plus, you've paid them something.

We got it yesterday. Only it was a 'group of fellow employees' coming from England, for dates 12/6-23. The owner didn't know about this scam and responded with a very nice email about scheduling, as well as information on our spa parties for groups. When I saw the email today I told her what the deal was.

I have been getting a few a week recently. Yes MT seem to want to believe that they are true because they need clients. There is a good article on it on abmp.com
