how much time and money we have spent pursuing this hobby ?

I have been a hobbyist since 1991.I usually go to an mp usually twice a week.As the work is so slow so i just spent some time and came with these mind boggling #".

For last 13 yrs ,2 sessions per week with an average of $120(their use to be some good $100 sessions before and even @ Allure 40 minutes Nr used to be $110 for many many yrs.) per sessions and 30 minutes per session.

That's more then 40,000 hrs with the Mpa's and and easily over $160,000 spent on this hobby.

That's really mindboggling.

Agreed.

Plus, $160k in 10 years is probably not realistic for most hobbyists - although I am envious you are able to afford it. Based on your math, you spend about $800 a month and that is probably more disposable cash than most people would have.

If you just bought a hot MPA a house directly, would you get more sex?

Could you buy a house and rent out rooms to hot MPAs/SPs as long as they serviced you?

Why am I getting the feeling that this has been tried before?

Unless you spent about 10-15 hours per session, I suspect it's more like 2 to 4 thousand hours rather than 40,000....

well, I'd say I go once a week or once every two weeks. But if I go to MP I try and compensate for that by not going out to a bar/club and getting smashed while spending the equivalent amount that I would spend at a MP. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I will spend that $100+ that night, one way or another. You gotta have fun in life. What the hell's the point of working all week long and then staying home cuz you wanna save some cash? fuck that....life's too short.

Agreed, in the end I don't really care how many thousands I've blown...as long as I'm not putting myself in financial jeopardy. For the most part it's been worth it.

I picked up the hobby since December 1998. Lost count of the number of sessions but on average I go once every 10 days the total money I spent on it is estimated to be around $28k.

And yes life is short, so enjoy while you can as long as it is not out of control.

Is it a good idea to spend grocery and gas money on MP's ? Probably not...

As the author of the Wealthy Barber states, pay yourself first, (10% of salary for savings) then after that buy whatever you want...

Recently at work, a Manager lost his wife to cancer at the age of 48, leaving behind two teenage daughters. In my own family, a relative is suffering from leukemia and isn't expected to survive past the next couple of months...

My own father had triple bypass at 55, and never smoked or drank, so you realize that time is NOT on your side...

You have to plan for tomorrow but live for TODAY... Don't feel guilty spending money on that favourite girl

This is a topic I have thought about at length. Whenever I add up the financial cost, I realize that I have nothing tangible to show for my expense. However, when I think of the memories and friendships I have made as a result, somehow it doesnt seem like all that much money.

I've been hobbying for less than a year, and I've only spent around $2k. I can easily see how the dollars can add up, but when I compare it to the last relationship that I had (at least $10k a year), it's nothing. It's been an eye-opening experience, but I've realized that this hobby isn't for me. I'm planning to quit when my favorite mpa retires within the next six months.

Spending the money on the here and now is way to easy. You have to be able to control yourself... that's the key. I've been hobbying for a while and like most I've been through the highs and the lows. If you can set personal goals for yourself and meet them, then spending money on this hobby is fine. If you can't meet your goals then you have a problem and should stop.......

I really don't have any major regrets . Most of the time and money spent while pursuing this hobby was and still is worth it.Just here and there when i try to experiment newer places i have encountered dissappointments.But luckily of late there have been a way few of them.
