We have a 1 1/2 year old neutered male cat, are bringing in a 4 month old female spayed kitten. How is the easiest way to introduce them? I have her in a room by herself and every time I go in there I rub my hands on my male cat, he is doing hissing and growling at the moment. He saw her thru a crack in the door and is interested, but is mostly going to the basement. I am trying to keep his schedule as usual and pay him more attention, but he is doing some low growling with that too. Is there an easy way to get them used to each other? I do not want to take her back to the shelter.
