Chat Inflation impacts to hobbying...

Don't know about you guys but I'm paying around $500-600 more each month for stuff like gas, food, etc. I suspect some guys are getting hit with higher mortgage costs too...

That's good for almost one massage a week...

Anyone cutting back on hobbying these days due to rising inflation?

I am older so I can't afford to waste any time lol .so still hobbying .I might slow down if the session and tips become more expensive.

Inflation is everywhere. I am very fortunate because I still own and run a company that is doing well.
I am over 70. No wife, ex-wives, or children to support. 1 kid who works for google and makes more money then me.
Car, gas etc all expensed by company. Too bad I cannot expensed this hobby.
Not asset building. Not leaving any inheritance. Not sure how many more years I have but I am going to enjoy this ride as long as I can

Yes, but he is GETTING PAID to do his thing whereas I have to pay for everything out of my own pocket.
Put it this way, I have paid my dues for the past 30/40 years. Time to reap the benefits.

The ones I go to are business as usual...not sure about other ones. I am surprised though...I thought during a 'recession', massage would be the one thing that gets cut lol

You need to add a few civilians to the mix. It will cut back on your spending and help with any cravings.

It's definitely made me rethink seeing certain SP's. I've watched lot of girls average hh prices jump from 120/140 to 180/200 and I can't justify it for some of them. The increase with MP's hasn't seemed too bad yet, you can still find door fees at 40/50/60 for 30/45/60 but I do try and tip an extra $10 above what I used to.

You don't have a clue how many over 70 guys in here still hobbying regularly. I have seen quite a few at front desk. I thought I am pretty fit for my age but I know one guy about my age, fitter than me and hobbying 2-3 times a week at both holistic and semi legits. The oldest guy I have seen was 78 but I didn't see him any more this yr. I hope he's okay.

True but civies take up more time than spa girls...I do continue to see a couple of faves pretty much as civies though

At my age, I do not want to see civies. I have a saying. When you lease (rent) you pay as you go. When you buy as in dating civies, or worse in a long term relationship, if something happens you end up paying "Property Tax" as in maintenance etc.

Back to the topic at hand.
I am from Mississauga. Dixie/401. I drive a Lexus SUV hybrid. I get 10L/100km
To go to Spa Central - Leslie/Hwy7. 100km 2 ways. - that is 10L x $2. = $20.
Ellagance - 2 way - 50km x $2 = $10.
Do this 2/3X a week it all adds up.
And that is not including 407 toll charges. Taking the 401 especially to the East is one of the worst drives one can have.
Because of that I had started to limit myself to only Ellagance. Because Ella keeps on adding new faces to her roster, I have not got bored yet. Blue Nile is another option for me. Went there once but was not too impressed and had not gone back. Parking there is also an issue.
For Holistics, I only go to Espa. Again it is close to home base.
