Introducing whole milk to 1 year old?

I would like to wean my 1 year old from the breast but he refuses the whole milk and starts throwing a fit. I really want to wean him but it's gotten very difficult. I really need some support and some advice on how to get him to drink the whole milk. Any advice?

Are you giving it to him warm or cold? I would warm it slightly.
Is it the bottle, or milk he is refusing?
Sometimes its not the milk, its the detachement to the breast.

That was hard for me too.. and when he threw a fit i gave in..cuz i wanted to SLEEP
I tried giving it to my daughter just once a day and tryin to trick her with it.. before i realized that.... a child will NOT go thirsty. If they keep refusing..they'll give in sooner or later if you dont give them nothing else.. and it'll be frustrating at first but stick to your guns. And you may worry that they're not drinking anything but they will..

Have you tried mixing some of your milk in with the whole milk? Then gradually switch it to complete whole milk... he has to acquire a taste for it. It is just like introducing new foods. They have to acquire a taste before they will like it.

put in a bit of chocolate or strawberry flavoring. my son who is 2yrs old does not drink milk and that is fine if your little one does not want it. what you do is make sure you give him cheese and yogurts instead to replace the vitamins. milk does not replace formula or breast milk but helps assist in provideing the vitamins. you could also give your little buy some chewable vitamins instead.

we had to mix and gradually increase until it was all whole milk....hth
