ITEC Case Study & hand reflexology

Hi All,

Hope the New Year finds you all well!

Quick question: I'm currently studying ITEC Diploma in Reflexology. I have a potential case study who will not tolerate her feet being touched and will only consider hand reflexology. I think this would be a great case study, as it provides a bit of diversity. But my Tutor is unsure if ITEC would accept the case study if I have ONLY done her hands. I don't want to risk havingone case study rejected and failing!!

Does anybody have any experience/advice on the matter??

i have just started teaching an intro to hand reflexology course, one of the reasons being that many people dont or cant have their feet done.[/align][/align]i dont know for sure, but i cant see why ITEC would reject it as a case study, seeing as hands are referral areas and you are expected to know about hand reflex for exam purposes anyway.[/align][/align]its up to your tutor/ curriculum manager to get in touch with ITEC and get clarification on it. if they seem reluctant to do this, contact ITEC yourself via [link=http://www.itecworld.co.uk]www.itecworld.co.uk[/link].[/align][/align][ol][*]Case studies.
[ol][*]i. Case studies are used as the internal assessment of Unit 4 Practical.

[*]ii. Case studies must be completed under the supervision of a tutor or in the candidate’s own time. The tutor must monitor the quality of the written case study work throughout the candidate’s training to ensure that the content of the written documents meets ITEC criteria. The criteria are detailed on the case study guidance form.

[*]iii. It is recommended that candidates spend between 3 – 5 hours on each case study treatment which will total between 120 – 200 hours to fully complete the case study portfolio.

[*]iv. The case study guidance form should be completed and placed with the case studies for verification by the ITEC Examiner.

[*]v. If a case study does not meet the ITEC criteria, the ITEC Examiner will complete a candidate referral form to help the candidate strengthen the case studies to gain a pass grade. [/ol][/ol]

Hi Lisa,
What's her reason for not wanting her feet touched? I've found that it's often the people who say they don't like it that end up liking reflexology the most! Perhaps she thinks it will be ticklish, in which case, you should reassure her that it is NOT! Will she let you give her a very short taster?
