WACO, Texas (KWTX) Some local massage therapists are taking their services on the road, providing free massages to those they feel need it the most including area first responders, staff at local nursing homes and hospice workers.

“I used to work at a nursing home so I know how the staff can get overstressed,” said Tranquil Body Care owner Sheri Suprobro.

“We just want people to know that they are doing a good job and there is someone out there who appreciates them.”

Since April, Tranquil Body Care in Hewitt has been reaching out to those who work in high stress positions and offering to bring three therapists and three chairs to the businesses for a few hours, booking workers every 10 minutes.

Therapist Kelsie Wilson says she’s particularly enjoyed easing the stress of area first responders who so far have included Hewitt police and firefighters as well as Robinson police officers and staff.

“The police and fire departments have been great. A lot of those people really need the massages because they have high stress jobs and you can really feel it in the upper body and neck,” Wilson said.


Robinson Police department employees lined up for the free R&R on Tuesday, including included Officer Chris Lopez, a training coordinator who has been on the force in Robinson for more than a decade.

“What did it mean to us? It was a great break from the day,” Lopez said.

“It really showed some appreciation for us and we really appreciate them.”

The business has also given free massages to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest hospice workers as well as setting up shop in the “Night to Shine” event at Crestview Church or Christ where caretakers and those with special enjoyed a prom especially for them through the Tim Tebow Foundation.

Tranquil Body Care has been opened since 2016 and is located on Sun Valley Boulevard in Hewitt.
