Hey there... will be spending just 2 nights in Monterrey in two weeks (21st-23rd - and looking for recommendations... Have Amigomio's list & map (outstanding!) - but due to limited time, looking for best guess on what order to try the clubs... Last time, I tried Pasareles (not good) & then Poisson (good - but on the expensive side...). Also, my Spanish is VERY limited.... I can order a beer & find my way to the men's room... but that is it... Any suggestions as to the order I try the others you recommended? Will be staying at the Radisson Ancira downtown...

I intended to get to the Harem last night to see if they have packaged deals available, but I just got up to another club, sorry...
When are you coming down to MOnterrey? I might be able to check it out tomorrow night...
Regular prices at the Harem are
50 pesos per 4 minute dance
550 pesos per a F/S private dance (15 minutes)
1200 for a 30 minute private room dance (F/S includes)
They haver somewhere around 25-35 girls
Lots to choose around...

Pepino, the Howard Johnson Plaza Monterrey will be fine at a rate of 95 dlls per night. This one's at the dowtown hotel distric.
The Fiesta Inn Monterrey Centro goes for 95 dlls too.
The Safi hotel ( check it out at http://www.safihotel.com/ ) this is a good hotel with rates starting at 70 dlls double occupancy.
All mentioned hotels are no more than 5-8 minutes away from the central Monterrey club scene.
(Pepino, there are still good hotels at rates that are on the 45-55 dll range that other guys from the USA have stayed and that they vouch for... dunno if you want them too)
Strip clubs: We have them on all price ranges, like the Obsession where you need to spend A LOT to get just a woody and them some more to get a really bad full service.
Moderate priced clubs (like the ones on the links I posted some post earlier) are on the 50 and 100 dlls for F/S.
Most of the moderate priced clubs have VIP sections and are the ones that charge the 100 dlls tab.
And then there are the whorehouses. You must have seen the Casablanca right across the Obsession. Prices there are 200 dlls that include the girl's price eforum.xxx, her drinks (4 doubles), room (nice room with full bath) and a condom.

Yes, you stayed at the BW Royal Courts. Boasts that it is family inclined. No hanky panky...
I can gladly help you out so you can set your self in a better hotel.
But you need to tell me what area you are going to in Monterrey (as in work? or is it plain fun?) and tell me how much you can spend on a hotel. The San Nicolas area where you stayed at has several hotels, but there is not a big selection from where to choose from like the dowtown area or the Colonia del Valle area to the South.
The other options are like you've seen, the Holidya Inn, the Hampton inn a little further North on Universidad and the Fiesta Inn a couple of minutes away from the Best Western.
Then its the downtown area to the south 10 minutes away...

I will get a hold of you next time I go to Monterrey. Thanks for the advice. I stayed at the Best Western on Universidad (I think that is the name, across from a Holiday Inn). I had my SO with me, but a friend stayed at another room. We tried Obsession too and it was too expensive and more to arrange a date. The Hotel where I stayed did not appear to be friendly to bring someone back. I would like to find one where I can stay with my SO and can rent another room there or get another motel nearby as long as it is ok to bring someone back. Maybe with bigger rooms than Best Western, they were tiny hehehe Any help is greatly appreciated.

Easy Bill... you went to the Obsession. At the Avenida Madero (one block South of the club) is full of moderate priced clubs where you can fill your hearts desire for 1000-2000 pesos and get what you want with out begging to get it.
Girls at the expensive clubs need to get a quota filled so they can get their daily salary. They need 6 single drinks, or 3 drinks and a 650 peso privado and so on. They can not aford wasting their time on a client that already has given there most to them (that's their logic) If you know your way around the clubs you can make it even at the most expensive ones.
But that is why I always recomend the moderate prieced ones, much easier for guys from the States to get their peso - fun ratio fullfilled.
You need to go to the Harem, Pasarelas, Azul Tequila. I neve visit the expensive ones.. only at lunch time.

One final note. The strip bar, Obsession, is typical of most strip bars. This was a nice but typical place. They waived the entry fee and I was approached imediately by some very attractive girls. Two rounds of trying to get me to buy drinks failed and then I was left alone. The drinks were 4 to 6. The drinks for the girls were 12 and up. A lap dance was 7.50 and a trip to the VIP room was negotiable but ran around 50 to 80. The rule I always use is never let them run a tab for you. They always seem to get inflated. I personally am not wild about strip bars and I left after an hour of watching the pretty girls leaving only the cost of two drinks behind, about 12 bucks. But the place seemed well run and if strip bars are your thing this looked like a good one. I was told FS was possible in the VIP rooms. I was also told by the drink server that the girls like the tips that go with FS but management dislikes FS because the john leaves after FS and do not continue buying drinks. Someone should tell them about the Pink Lady in Juarez. They encourage FS and the girl hangs with you afterwards for drinks and tries to get you to do it again. Anybody know if a Pink Lady style Bar/Brothel exists in Monterey?

Another day in Monterey. Sunday is not the best day. All the clubs seem to be closed so I settled for a MP. Its called Stratus and is staffed by reasonably cute locals. When you walk in there is a greeting room with girls dressed in street walker garb. Everybody stood around for a minute while I looked at the girls.
