Newbie to Massage World! Wondering what to expect in my first massage session?

Hello,

I am a newbie to this massage world and have my first ever appointment at a legit place close by. Being new, I don’t even know what to expect and just booked it out of excitement. Found this forum and thought of posting it here. Excuse me if I am doing if the wrong way.

I am kind of not sure if I want it to go beyond a massage session. Is that how someone feels the first time ? How much should I tip her for my massage alone with no extra services? I am kind of excited and scared too as I am not from around. Any advice/suggestion would be welcome.

Search Google; read; search this forum. Heck- just go to your appt. and tell them you've never had a massage. They will treat you well. For a legit massage, they are professionals. Do you tip your doctor? Do you tip your dentist? Do you tip your mechanic? No tip neccessary but I'm sure they won't object.

I like to tip my Legit around 20$...absolutely nothing to worry about. like RMG said...tell them you have never and they will put you at ease

Do you know what's involved in getting a RMT designation in Alberta? It's not the same as being a doctor but still considered a "professional".

I would try another well reviewed place. Very hard to find anything decent with massage addict. I know you don't care much about the HE part but there are many well reviewed legit providers.
1st determine exactly what you want with the massage IE: relax, therapeutic or specific area pain management then do some reading and ask the questions again with a little more detail. you will find this site has many contributors that know a lot about legitimate massage. we all have our favourites but it is highly subjective.

haha!! true, the escalation was real quick and I felt the session was even quicker. An hour felt like gone in minutes. That’s why I have booked another session this week.
