No fun in Pattaya!?

Hello,
I'm a 27-year-old man from Sweden. Have been in Pattaya about 3 times in 3 years. I cannot understand what people say about everything here. I almost never meet some girls..
Have been in all areas (mostly around soi 2, 7, 8). Everybody's just ignoring me except from some "oldies" (=35+) and ladyboys.
This year I've spending good time with girl only 1 time in 4 weeks!

How can everyboby enjoying themselves here? I'm ordinary man, a little slim boby.. But not very ansocial.

My bad luck's following me with everything in life..

If your not meeting girls in Pattaya I cannot begin to imagine how to advise you..

Dont worry about things like 'little slim' just make sure your presentable and clean, try to enjoy youself first and foremost.. Girls like to have fun and want to be with someone else having fun.. Engage them in conversation, try to joke around with them..

Not really sure what I can say.. Its Pattaya for gods sake..

I guess LOS is like the real world in this respect, to be sucessfull with women you have to have something they want. This can either be a good personally, a good physique, be good looking or have heaps of dosh. I have noticed in my 2 trips to LOS this appears to be the case, just like in the real world. I work all year on the 3 points above and save my money so I appear to have heaps of dosh and never show the persona of being a 'Cheap Charlie'.

Try to change your image in some way. Try learning the Thai language. Hope this helps.

I think point 4 and point 1 are the big winners.. Age, physical appearance, good physique all come second to money (for the immediate short term) and fun and outgoing..

I this confidence and humour are big in any country but sanuk here is a big part of life and Thais want to have fun (often over money)..

Go up to the girl you fancy, buy her a drink and then sit down and talk to her. After a few minutes you will get a feel for whether she likes you or not. If she doesn't then move on to your next target. All you've lost is one lady drink. Don't wait for them to approach you. You always end up with the ones you don't like.

I do this when I'm out hunting and it may take several tries and several different bars before you find one. However, some nights I still strike out and go home alone.

I was actually suprised by how little the girls came up to me in Pattaya, I think its probably the opposite way round to how the OP thinks. I think the girls are probably a little apprehensive as they are used to considerably older men, and are perhaps intimidated a little by a younger farang.

I had an interesting chat with a girl in Pattaya who basically said that all the girls think that a very young guy will only pick the most beautiful of girls, so most girls dont tend to bother trying it on.

Go to Patong, in Phuket, You'll have a much more enjoyable time.

Isnt it funny the different perceptions each person gets from a place. I was totally blown away with Pattaya and could not believe the numbers of beautiful girls just waiting for company. Once I got to Phuket I could not believe how many farang there were walking around and my first thought was what the hell am I doing here!

But it all worked out in the end. I still think that on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 the best) Pattaya rates 9 while Phuket 6 for quality and cost. I met my dream girl at a bar where she worked in Pattaya during the day. She just asked me whether I wished to go and see the big gold Budda on the hill. I said that sounds like a plan and she looked after me for the rest of my stay. Not even Phuket managered to cure me of her.

This has to be some kind of wind-up. Its pretty much impossible not to get laid in Pattaya On the off-chance this is genuine though....

My last trip in October I had a friend of mine travelling with me and it was his first time in Thailand. He had a real problem in the bars along sois 7 & 8 simply because he was a bit shy and wouldn't initiate a conversation with the girls he liked. If I was there I'd go drag someone over for him and get the ball rolling and it was fine but when he went out on his own nothing seemed to happen. Because of his attitude (which I'd have to say is more important than looks, age or cash) the girls assumed he wasn't interested and left him alone. He'd get the usual 'hansum man' stuff when he walked past and would allow himself to be dragged into a bar but would then just sit there, not say anything, finish his drink and leave disappointed that nothing had happened.

He had much better luck in the gogos along Walking st. The girls were a lot more forward and once they'd started talking to him then he was ok, his problem was that he just wouldn't initiate any conversation himself. Actually the hassling to buy lady drinks that is a pain in the ass for most other people was quite a godsend for him as that was his opening to get talking to somebody.

I can relate to your friend. I have been very shy all my life. I have had numerous girls almost throw themselves at my feet, but I was too shy to do anything about it. I also find the Go-Go's easier to deal with, granted, they can be a little pushy sometimes, and the wrong girl usually sits down with me, but I just smile, give her 50b and ask her to get the one of my choice, almost always works. Then it is downhill from there. :happyi:
The beer-bar scene took some getting used to, walking the gauntlet checking out the merchandise can be a little scary, with some of them grabbing your crotch, and others blocking the way so you cannot get by. After a while you figure out how it works and it get easier. Heck, my last trip I slept alone 7 out of 10 nights, I would rather do that than take somone I don't feel comfortable with. :love:

If you sit in a bar and want company, show interest towards the girls yourself, buy a drink, joke with them or ask for a game or similar to start a conversation. Lot of girls leave you alone unless you shows interest in them.

I understand this can be a problem if you are shy, but sometimes you have to take the initiative to get things started. Many girls dont like to be refused either when they try to take intiative.

What I have seen as a barowner, some girls always take intiative themselves and some girls just waiting for someone to do that.
