Once your in, you have to go to the bar, show your card... and ask for your free drink.
The waiters won't bring you a free drink. They are afraid if they do, they will not get a tip. I get the same treatment in Mexico. I know the owners of a few of the bars in Nuevo Laredo. They will usually giveme a free drink, but the Meseros will not bring it, I have to get it from the bar myself. Funny thing is, the meseros know I tip fairly well.

When I went there a year ago, my free drink was brought to me and the first time I didn't tip.

The waiters have always served my free drink.Have never tipped for drinks.Thats a US custom that should not be practiced in CR.
