Three women were arrested on various charges, including prostitution, after an undercover investigation on Long Island, according to police.
The raid took place on Thursday, Nov. 30 in Franklin Square after Nassau County Police conducted an undercover investigation at Zen Retreat Spa, located at 346 Franklin Avenue.
Mercedes V. Miller of Hicksville, age 30, was taken into custody and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession.
Sarah Fayette Hamilton, age 31, of Jamaica, Queens, was also arrested and charged with prostitution.
Additionally, police arrested 30-year-old Chanelle Rose Butler, who allegedly had her 5-year-old child with her in the spa.
Butler, who is from Queens, was charged with:
- Unlawfully dealing with a child;
- Endangering the welfare of a child; and
- Promoting prostitution.
Her child was released into the custody of a family member.
Butler is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, Dec. 1 at First District Court in Hempstead.
Both Hamilton and Miller were released on appearance tickets and are due back in court on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
