Was just about to go into Lexa and 3 guys with badges and a clip board
entered. One told me to go home. I then heard them saying "I'll stay at the front you go straight to the back."
I think they were by-law as their badges did not look like metro's finest's
but I wasn't sure......didn't wnat to take the chance and stick around.
Gassman is now officially done at the MP scene. I'll stick to SP's for the little bit more money Its safer.

can by law do anything to guys found at MP's or can only cops charge us ??

I should have mentioned this before but each December they do a lot of raids, there is actually a thread on another board and I thought it was posted here as well ... well it is now.

I'd say it was just a routine By-law check. Cops don't carry clipboards. LE will always tell you to 'go home'. They like to pretend its some big bust they're doing. Makes them feel cooler.



Why is that?
Is it to 'create' a need for a higher 2006 LE budget?

Actually By-Law was making visits at other Spa today as I was at one when two guys came in. No big deal as I saw them down the street at another an hour later when I was getting a coffee. It is that time of year, the Christmas (I need Municipal money) rush.

Well I wouldn't say that ... Bylaw is the first line, if there are grounds for legal enforcement then LE attains a warrant and then bylaw and LE make another round.

In other news ...

Given that Fridays tour of duty proved unsuccessful mostly due to weather and a bad turnout at MPs by clients, bylaw usually plans the day in advance, you can probably look forward to another sweep before years end. They like to double back on occasion to catch many MPs off guard. Unfortunately it has been done in the past with proven success.

By-law enforcement, not coppers, go in looking for signs of illegal activity, drug paraphernalia, used condoms (so go bb ), etc. If they do, then maybe the coppers would be the next future visitors.

So here's a question for Very Bad Boy, or someone else who might know: All over Toronto there are dozens, or perhaps hundreds, of little massage parlours that operate wiht no licence at all, at least so far as I can tell. Many of them are Asian, and I am sure the girls who work there are students in Canada and not supposed to be working here. So what happens at year's end? Do by-law just skip over them because they're not on any list, or do they pay fines and continue to operate? This has always puzzled me. Thanks for any info.

It is Bylaws job to search out any business or person that does not have a license.

For example: They also govern taxis, therefore if they suspect a taxi of operating with no/or a fradulent license then they can take action with, and only with, the assistance of LE. No license means that they are not under the jurisdiction but the assistance of police means that they can file criminal charges. If the Bylaw does not have the luxury of LE assistance, time frame is short or caught in the act, then they press charges under the ministries authority similar to a citizens arrest.

If you to catch them in the act and this is a big city with few employees.
