Required tipping?

I'm confused, and searching the archives didnt help. I know tipping by definition is optional, and although much appreciated, is not required. But I've heard of unhappy MPs, attitude etc when a tip was not provided. Also since we're in massageplanet.net, tipping for the finish doesnt count as tipping... we're all assuming the finish unless someone mentions RMT in the thread.

So I'm thinking of going to Browns line today or tommorow, but I'm not sure if tipping is required. EVERYONE with a review has tipped. If I dont tip, how will I be treated.

See they advertise $40 minimum, which is something I can afford. $40 or $45 + $20 tip is something I cant... thats $65, and the cost of two tugs at $30 and $35 each. I know the standards are higher at Browns Line than at JunJun or Jutland since theyre licensed and not all Asian, but I need to be clear. I'm used to going at those places for $30 or $35 tug fixed price, and occasionally tip when I'm more familiar and comfortable with the MP. Thats when I also go for the extras.

What caused my confusion is Josephines. Their tips are $20 to $60. Why a minimum? Why $20? What will I get if I dont provide the $20? Last time I went there, dont remember the MP but she said they only get $5 from the door fee, and really worked for the tips. I dont believe her but my arm got twisted... but I was going for a nude 1hr MSOG anyway (total 120). Can I get by on $40 or $45 at I&P or Royal Spa or are the going costs really $60 and $65?

Uh... the tipping isn't optional.

If you get a "basic" massage without an extra tip for the woman to take her top off, go nekkid, slide on top of you, etc., I'm not even sure the woman finishes you off.

There are some lower-end places where the fee includes a basic finish... I used to go to Oriental Rainbow down on Adelaide and I'm pretty sure it was just the flat amount - $40? - and she whacked you off, fully dressed.

So yeah, maybe you're right - basically for the older, uglier chicks (not to cast aspersions) who work in some of the dumps, she finishes you off fully-clothed for the flat fee.

The $40 door fee, (room fee) generally all goes to the spa. The girls may get a cut of this fee if the customer does not pay for any extras, or she may get nothing. Depends on the spa.

The minimum $20 tipping above the $40 door fee at some spas is so the girl will get at least $20.

If you do not tip at all, and the girl gets nothing, the next time you go back to the spa the girls may all be busy.

Please don't assume that a tug is included. Many places, the tug is not part of the basic massage, that would be an extra.

As far as not tipping would you be treated differently? Maybe to answer it this way.

If you were doing a massage and were only getting $5.00 or $10.00 or maybe $0.00 of the door fee, and you had to put up with a lot of crap that some guys load on you, would you be a happy camper?

Chances are you would be pissed, when your focus for being in the business is to make more than just basic labour wages.

So if you do not have an extra $20.00 for the lady, my suggestion is to save up your money and go when you have a little extra cash, otherwise your basic massage experience could be a waste of your investment and your time and hers.

I understand, many guys have more or less money based on their own livelyhood options. But I think you are cheating yourself, if you try to cheap out on a session.

Try to treat her fairly, and politely you should have a good time.

Just as I feared. The actual costs are +$20. That does explain the $20-$60 tip mark at Josephines. Jutland it is for tonight!

It may be better to put up the costs as marked on the menu to include the $20 tip for the unwary. The Jutland place I frequent dont expect or ask for tips, but I go there frequently enough. One new attendant was quite adamant about extras, I refused, then said "ok then you ll have to give me a tip". Told her I dont have it, and got a nasty finish, and "here clean yourself up" tissue box, and complete avoidance. I had to find the door myself.

She doesnt work there anymore btw.

The thing is, I would have either not visited her, or paid her the tip if I know that was the service I get. At that point as others have mentioned in other threads.. its not a tip. Its like the $50 item on eBay with the $100 shipping cost. Deceptive marketing. Thats why you find so many threads asking if so and so place includes the finish, even though including that is more-or-less standard in Toronto.

I'll visit Royal Spa sometime when I have the $65. Today the receptionist was mighty nice (the one with the sizey hind rack) and I loved her attitude. I wonder if she works too.

If there's confusion, we are to blame. A tip is at the customer's sole discretion, always. The stupidities of the law make it dicey—at least to some—to post a sexually-oriented price list, or even to talk about it. But make no mistake, there is one, as many have said above. It's what you pay the MPA, after you've paid for the room.

Slow thinkers who imagine that the inestimable privilege of whacking them off should be covered by a $30-40 fee that also covers the rent, utilities, fixtures, towels and pays the girl for her half-hour of physical labour (along with their groping) more than explain the hostile reception you'll get if you try to get away paying the door fee alone. And if she calls it a 'tip', she's just trying to disguise a sex-for-simoleans acne-faced reality, by daubing a last little bit of verbal makeup. Humour her and pay up.

But, for the life of me, I do not comprehend why we come here, amongst ourselves, supposedly to share information factually, and continue to use the silly euphemism. It's confusing. What we pay the MPA, in the room is a fee for service, e.g."…the fee for NR is usually $60, and that's what I paid". Many guys, when they're so moved add a tip to that. Even I will say "Wotthell" now and then and hand over four twenties for a 'specially nice time. That, and only that, is a tip. OK?

40 is the door fee then you pay 20 to 100 to the girl. Depending on what you pay you get different levels of service. Keep in mind MP are not escorts so FS and BJ are not part of that amount you pay. People call the amount going to the MPA a tip but really it's not a tip since it's not optional.

And no one is twisting your arm the girls usually get very little if anything from the door fee.

Check out webiste such as the ones for SRM and PA this site has links to them that will give you ideas about the level of service.

Now the shocker for me is how can you have been on this board for so long and still not know the costs and ins and outs of massages, escorts and dancers?

There's nothing wrong with going to places with the sole intent of getting a hj and no extra's. Personally i feel that the hj is included in the df and when i used to be just interested in feeling new mps out i would go for the basic just about everytime and never got attitude for getting a basic hj for the df.
However, alot of this question deals with where you are planning on hobbying.
Im a regular at Lexa and for me to go there and just get a basic isnt my style anymore but if you are willing to pony up at least the minimum 20 you will get a topless massage plus the hj which i think is a fair deal.
Unfortunately if $60 is too much for your budget you might be better off sticking with what you know and where you already have regulars who are content with your tipping practices.

I just went ahead and visited Royal Spa. Saw 2 attendants, picked Sarah.

Shes cute and my type of girl. Great skin very pretty face. Shes not scrawny, and has some baby fat. On one hand I dont think we clicked much, shes an all Canadian hockey-puck girl while I wasnt exactly born here. But the conversation went great and shes quite knowledgeable.

I wont score the massage since being a Changs regular I'm really spoilt there, and Sarah is no Shiatsu doctor. Finish was good and I liked the dirty talk from such an innocent-looking girl. Total $70 including topless.

I strongly recommend at least topless if youre into her kind of girl.
