Steeles Royal and OIL

I have been to IT , BS, BP and Allure and went to Steels Royal today. Place looks pretty good and I think I would rate it with the above spas.

I was with Renee and I'm not really going to review her here since this isnt really a review and she has been reviewed by other massageplanet.net members and I pretty much concur with their review.

My main point is the oil they use seems kinda different from what I have experienced at the other spas. This stuff is extremely difficult to wash off. Renee said its mineral oil. It probably would make a great undercoat spray for my car! I dont know about you other guys but I dont wash my hair when I shower at the spas and never felt I needed to but, man that oil was everywhere! I got back to my office and everyone is looking at my hair like I fell into a drum of 10w30 motor oil. I felt oily all day . Thank God I went to the gym after work and went for a steam ( steam clean ) and long shower before going home.

I think that they should use oil that washes off easier and the attendant should be aware that we love that slide but not all over the hair. I should not leave a MP looking like I've been at one,,,,

Mineral oil comes in two flavours - light and heavy. Baby oil is light weight mineral oil with smelly crap in it. Sounds like you got the heavy stuff. At least you won't rust.

As far as I know, all of the rooms also come equipped with a body cream too. I have opted for this option before and the massage was nice. It washes off nicely and the odour won't stay around providing you have a shower at the end of your session.


As far as the oil is concerned, it's not baby oil. It's an actual massage oil. I like it because I have very dry skin.

If it was really mineral oil it would wash off quickly with soap. Mineral oil also does not smell which is why many of us prefer it to baby oil.

You may have gotten something different. Why not call Micron and ask her what kind of oil it is. As pblues point out its a real massaging oil.

I also hate that oily feeling especially if you get a massage towards the start or middle of a busy day. You end up feeling extremely oily all day long. I often end up taking a second shower when I get home when the mpa goes over board with the oil.

Im sure it was different from oils used at the other MP's I've been at. This stuff was tenatious. It was way too hard to get off,,,, ah,,, to get the OIL off . If there is a lighter grade then Micron should look into it because I wouldnt recommend that stuff at all. Maybe they could thin it with turpentine

Rubbing alcohol. Pharmacies have it. It's in the alcohol swabs.
Some MP have this on hand.
SRM doesn't stock this item.
I like to plan ahead and bring some with me. Take a wash cloth with the alcohol before showering with soap and water. I haven't come up with anything else that is readily available, that will cut through the oil and not leave a strong odour.

Do to this trend,I decided to do some research on oils .
When I bought this place there was alot of oil here and that seemed to be fine,tryed to order more from the same company ,but they (the soap company) is no longer in business.I bought some mineral oil from another company a month ago -thought all mineral oil was the same...NOT....Some are thicker then others .
I found a company in Toronto today who took the time to explain different kinds of oils and there qualities,he suggested a very high quality oil ,I'll be using this oil as of tomorrow -please give me your feed back -I also ordered a very light mineral oil without any fregerance ,should receive in a week or so..enjoy

P.S Baby oil is a mineral oil :low density, with fragrance added.

Your comments about anything at my spa is very welcome-good or bad.

Great work Micron, I in fact like the idea that you have a choice of 3 oils. I've never seen that any where else . I do like the new oil it's great for dry skin . Which I think most of us have in the winter months. Thanks again Micron for staying ahead of the times.

Speaking of Oil....
Whatever happened to Maggie from S9 way back....she use tones of oil.
Unfortunately only had the pleasure of seeing her once before mama san decide to close.
