Here's where you are wrong... Just "saying" they will not put up with it means NOTHING, if they don't ACT on what they say. MANDATORY and IMMEDIATE suspension is a good start. Followed by PUBLIC outing of the perpetrator. But alas, this will never happen, at least not in Canada. (Or maybe Ontario)
A couple years ago, my son was a victim bullying. His best friend at the time, (he has since moved away) and he, were being bullied because the friend's mother was a known lesbian. It had been going on for quite some time.... On this particular day, the bullies were really giving my son's friend a shellacking so my son came to his defense. The boys all got in a tussle and they were all marched down to the principals office. I got a phone call and the principal could tell me VERY little about what happened because of some Protection of Privacy BS act! He told me the other boys were all suspended for 1 day. 1 day???? I said, lemme have the kids name, so I can speak to his parents. He tells me, I'm sorry, I can't give you that information, but he "assures" me the parents were given a stern talking to! (Ya right!)
2 Days later the SAME kids are doing EXACTLY the SAME thing.
So I speak to my son, get the info I needed and went and spoke to the parents myself. It was like speaking to a brick wall of course, but in that conversation, I threatened REAL PUBLIC legal action if it ever happened again!
It stopped.
