What's a proper tip?

Hello all,

Well after a couple of friends have told me I should go for one and after reviewing a lot of very good info here, I think this week will be my first go at an MPA. I have my girl down and from what I read it should be a good session.

I am curious to hear what is a reasonable tip. I have read about giving a tip to the girl at the end, just want to see how much is a good tip.

Hey Meridian! thanks for the thread, I had not seen this one. I'm sure glad I read it, I thought a tip was implied.

To be honest I haven't scheduled my appointment yet, I am a little, actually make that a lot nervous still about going through with it. I guess I better make up my mind soon if I don't want to miss my MPA this week.

Not all places accept Debit/VISA/MC/AMEX. It's alway's good to carry cash so you don't have to run to a bank machine. Dude, you are way too nervous. It's not as if you're going for a job interview. Just relax and have a great time. As long as you have the money and are going to a decent place, there is no reason to worry.

With regards to tipping, it would all depend on whether or not you are satisfied with the rub.

I do know that many mpa's appreciate tipping over and above the door and room fees. They will remember you and treat you nicely the next time around if such would arise.

One MP I know of charges the girls a maintenance fee of $10/day. To boot, they have cards and coupons that entitle the customer to get $10 off. The twist is that the $10 is taken out of the girl's portion of the fee and not the establishment's. So for example, if you pay a package fee of $80 for a NR and submit a $10 coupon, the establishment gets $40 and the girl gets $30. If per chance you were her first customer, that $30 is further reduced to $20 after having paid the maintenance fee.

Doesn't quite seem fair for the mpa does it? $20 for half hour's rub down and an HJ to boot. As I said, a little tipping is nice provided you were satisfied with the mpa's performance.

They make enough money if they are good at what they do! They should just concentrate on providing a good service and they will make more money on repeat business.....that's how I make more money by servicing my clients, in the real world, to death.

The only way they will remember you is by coming back for more on a regular basis, not by how much you tipped them 4 months ago!

Maybe you should go out on the street give some guy a HJ for 20 bucks and as an added bonus, give him a rub down for 30 minutes. See how you enjoy it and if after you see the same guy, when you're trying to make more moola, try to give him a smile, maybe he'll give ya an extra loonie.

It's the establishment that makes the money. The girls rely on the tips and as I stated, only IF the girls prove to give you satisfactory results.

Damn, it's hard not to swear sometimes!

i feel tears, tears of laughter streaming down my face DreamMaker.....if the bucks in that business are not enough, there is always a minimum wage job at 40 hours a week, roughly $280 per week, after taxes about $200. I would guess you make that in a night (if not more)....BTW it is your choice to be in that business.....I'd rather tip a waiter/waitress making mininum wage. They work just as hard dealing with intoxicated people and all the while keeping a smile.....I guess you do to, except you make decent moola.....

That is a matter of my opinion.....see you at our next appointment?

We seem to be lumping all MP's together as well as types of sessions.

At some MP's you are required to take at least one option as opposed to others where the girl will only get a percentage of the door fee for a basic. Does anyone actually get a basic ? Not that there's anything wrong with it, but I think they would be in the minority and as I said, it's only possible at some spas.

I think we do over estimate what MPA's at the top spas make, but from my personal perspective who has never taken less than the top option ( eg 1hr = $160 to $200 "TIP" ) they are getting very reasonable money within the boundaries of that single transaction between MPA & client.

I do think they are sharing a part of themselves which cannot be compared directly to any other profession; doing so lends little useful perpective. Maybe it should be valued at many times more than the present industry rates considering - that, however would be very subjective dependant on the individual MPA. From my perspective it is a fair price to pay and one that obviously MPA's have chosen as "acceptable".

I do empathise with MPA's and value the industry, but being I client my outlook is somewhat torn. Hobbyists as a group obviously do not want the rates driven up.

As I've stated elsewhere before, I'd be glad at the opportunity to make what I consider to be decent money and experience being an MPA. I won't bore you with my reservations vs perceived positive aspects in becoming an MPA. I'd never truly know unless I lived it and that's not likely to happen unless Paul gives me a job !

You sound like the type that would know all about minimum wage. Is that what you pay your staff?

Waiters and waitresses do not have to put up with your smelly ass nor your sweaty skin and most of all your arrogance towards someone trying to make a living by something you probably enjoy more than they!

Furthermore, I am not in the business and further yet, unless you fancy being porked from behind by another male, I doubt that we will ever meet for an appointment. And ... even if I were gay, I wouldn't be porking a cheap s.o.b. like you.

geez...sorry you sounded like an MPA....my mistake...you must really sympathize with them....maybe in another life!

Never had to work minimum wage, thanks to a good university education which I paid for. Sales is my gig and straight commission to boot. So you wanna talk about hard working, your looking at him. I sell I get paid, I don't sell I don't get paid....get it! Not like MPA's which are like what we call in sales field order takers because they don't go out there to generate the business, the business generates the traffic and they make the most of it.

Much like your name, you are dreaming and hey if it makes you happy, keep tipping.....at the end of the day, it is your money and I am sure your creditors will understand when you can't pay that $40 phone bill because you decided to tip every MPA....it adds up, just like those ATM service charges...."ah $1.50 who cares", but when you add that all up, it will equal the tips your giving....

Oh and one more thing, unless you don't take showers, my ass doesnt smell especially after a shower and some Jean Paul Gauthier cologne.....tip for your: MPA's dig it! That's my tip, my good hygiene.....

Oh, failed to mention ... I make 1 1/2 times the amount you calculated in minimum wage per day as an engineer. Perhaps I tend to be a little more appreciative of the services rendered and tip on top.

I and a few other of my associates make more than the president of our company (sales in excess of $150 million).....because it is our companies policy not to cap commissions.....do the math!

God I love my job! BTW there is a woman at our office that made $750,000 last year with her brains and sales savviness!

Tipping is part of the room charge, and with ever good rub there have been bad tugs....it evens out in the end.

I'd be more inclined to give discounts to those with nice smooth shaved balls rather than expect more from some dude with wrinkled balls.

Ah hell, I'd even give the wrinkled dude a discount. The image of some old dude handing over his pension is just too much.

If he seems loaded and/ or an arrogant self important bastard then no problemo. I'm afraid I may make a very discriminative MPA
