When and how do you introduce your children to the person your dating?

Single parents and parents that use to be in my place, this is for you.

When is the best time to introduce your kids to the person your dating? And how or where does it take place. I need some ideas or any helpful information.
Its been a month since I been seeing someone new and I still haven't introduced the kids, I think its too soon, but when it does happen. Whats a good way to do it?
they are 4 and 6.

and any side is helpful that way i know what he feels or what I should expect.
they seen him around before, i grew up with him and his family so he's not a complete stranger to the kids. Just kids being kids they dont remember or pay attention.

It depends on the children's age ? I think a month is too soon to introduce the children.
I never introduced my daughter to anyone to protect her.
