why my friend introduce me to his daughter unannounced?

I did not know I was going to meet her. I was meeting him to get something from him. I called him to tell him I was on my way and to meet me at a location. All he said was that he was going to pick her from school and he'll meet me in a few. So, I said ok. I thought that he was going to drop her off somewhere and then come and meet me. He is now separated/divorced. When he pulled up she was in the car. His daughter and I was shocked. He introduced us by name. And then we went separate ways. When I talked to him about it, he laughed. I told him it was not funny and he responded and say its all good. why did he do that. was it intentional for me to meet her so that he can see my expression. cause she looked like this was her first time saying him with a female friend besides her mother.
