Why won't my Facebook chat work?

I was on Facebook today and I noticed when I got the home page I guess you can call it, when the friends on chat thing came up no one was there. And I know there's at least someone on. Then I clicked on the chat menu and nothing came up. I tried restarting my computer several times and refreshing. Even going to the help place and sent a detailed "Help" thing in, but still nothing. I want to be able to chat again, this isn't just happening to me it's happening to my friend IDK why it's doing this. It's not computer it's Facebook. If this has happened to you please tell me how you were able to fix it. Thanks! :)
 
I have not had this happen to me but Facebook seems to ignore to policy "If its not broken don't fix it" and then they end up breaking things and they end up now needing fixing don't worry just check back every so often it will be working for you again soon
 
Cause Google+ is better ;) FB had a small system error earlier.
It's most likely not your computer..
