wouldn't a massage therapy career be kindof gross?

I was thinking about it because the pay is really good.. but is it really worth it?
Isn't it gross massaging people with back acne, wrinkly old people, or even really hairy people.. yuck! I Just wanted to hear what someone who does this for a career thinks of it?

If you can't get past the idea, then massage therapy isn't for you....you have to be able to accept, even respect and honor people....after all, they are trusting you - usually naked and vulnerable, flaws fully exposed - to make them feel better....

The pay isn't that good. If you work for yourself, expenses eat up half of what you bring in. For every hour of paid massage you'll have to work another 1/2-1 hour cleaning, billing, scheduling, etc. If you work for someone else, you'll make $15-25 an hour. You can only do about 25 massages a week.

I've never been grossed out by a body. But I HAVE been grossed out by dirty old men who want happy endings. They moan and grind the table and leave you a "present" on the table when you refuse. One filthy perv relieved himself in my hot stones. I had a 93-year-old man demand a hand job. Yes, that's not a typo. Ninety-three. When I refused he said, "then get me a tissue and get out, you stupid b!tch."

Double yuck.
