Why am I starting a new YoYo thread, because I can… not to mention that the old one had derailed a little.
My search for a new regular took me to this newish westend spa. The place is new, very clean. Up front, a simple water feature, a couple of chairs, lots of space for your shoes; dozens of sandals like any other Asian massage joints. The fact that the shoe racks are not caked with mud yet is a plus. A lengthy price list is featured prominently on the wall so you can’t be surprised when they quote you the $85 per hour rate. Last evening walk-in, there were 4 pairs of shoes up front, all of the ladies seemed to be busy so I can no longer call it an obscure new place, it is a hopping place.
Room wise, unlike many others, I am a fan of the "hole-in-the-bed" kind of massage tables; they are wider and more solidly build than the detachable head rest type. The tables here are a little too hard for my liking, the hole can be a little awkward for the head but the tables are sturdy and can take the punishment of those extra firm massages. The custom embroidered fitted sheets are a nice touch and I am a huge fan of the in-room showers, double bonus points for the in-room showers. There are 5 massage rooms in the place to they can accommodate 5 ladies working at the same time.
Even on my first visit, the draping question was answered without saying a word. There is no need to drape; there is NOTHING to drape with, you either leave your underwear on or you go undraped, there was no second layer on the table to drape with. If you received a towel to take a shower, you could use your wet towel to drape but I wasn't going to do that.
According to the ad, there are 5 ladies who work there; well I only found 4. When I asked, I was told that there are only 4; so that’s my story and I am sticking to it; currently, there are only 4 ladies working there and they are trying to recruit a fifth.
Monica is the lady you are most likely to run into if you do a walk in, taller muscular looking older lady with a perpetual stoic look. I have a tough time guessing her exact age. Look wise, she is not my cup of tea; she is older, taller and thicker than my dream girl. I know one review said that she is 50 but I don't think so, may be 40+, I think it is just that she does not wear make up which makes her very plain and older looking. She definitely has the best English of the whole lot. She is a reasonably strong masseuse, when asked for strong, she is 80% there. Finish wise, she is below average; she just seem very indifferent towards that whole process. Another reviewer give her the nickname “Irongrip”, not my words but I will let you interpret it the way you want. She is a little older, taller, thicker than my ideal girl, and she lacks the finishing skills for me to repeat. My one complaint, she needs to lose that indifferent look, I know when I show up in the evenings, she probably had a long day already but I still prefer to be greeted by a friendly face.
Amy is another OG girl you are likely to run into. Shorter rounder older lady (yes, she is very round); I would venture to guess that she is slightly older than Monica. She is pleasant enough and can carry on a bit of a conversation. She is a strong masseuse and can deliver proper deep. When the other girls exclaim, “you want deep, you should go see Amy instead”, you know she is the deep tissue specialist there. There is just nothing to write about with respect to Amy’s finishes. Overall, she is a little older, rounder than my ideal girl, I will not be repeating except if I happens in the neighbourhood looking for a LEGIT deep tissue, I may stop to see Amy. In my mind, it can be a good plan to see Amy for an hour long deep work, then go to my favourite westend micro for an extra 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercises.
QiQi (Got the spelling from the ad and she pronounces it Kay-Kay). I think there is already a recent review of her but here is my perspective. Look wise, she falls into that sexy milf category, 40ish or older. Average build, neither tall or short, neither thick or thin, just average. Her make-up is good, she can be very sexy when she smiles; I do like her look. Massage wise, she is pretty weak, if you are looking for a proper deep tissue, she is like 25% there. Her techniques (especially the teases) are somewhat different from the girls who graduated out of massage schools here so I am guessing she learned them from the old country; I would consider her massage more “relaxation” than therapeutic. She starts at your feet, with the unmistakable teasing beginning when she got to your mid section, the universal signal of more to come. She is definitely new to Canada, she said only two months. Her English language skills show her newcomer status easily, if you don’t speak Chinese, you may have to bring in Monica to translate. Having said that, she was friendly and smiling the entire time; saying the odd English words, I just smiled back; she was pleasant to be with. All communications are done through varying degree of smiles and universal hand gestures. The finish was actually better than all of the other girls and it left me wondering what finish I could have received if I had been fluent in Chinese. While she was friendly and compliant, there is just something missing because of her lack of English skills. I would repeat and hope that she picks up more English words after a few more months in Canada.
Finally, there is Mia, the baby of the four. No doubt she is the youngest of the bunch, but I have a tough time guessing her exact age. Her young-looking face tells me that she is sub 30 but her perfected make-up techniques, her enhanced tops and body ink tell me otherwise. I am going to go out on a limp and split the difference and say late 20s, 30ish. I am probably dead wrong but hey, this is my review so if you don’t like it, read something else. As many of you know, I like the petite spinner types, Mia’s body may have been enhance a little too much for my liking but some of you will love it. BTW, if you are the owner and you read this, those pink flower uniforms gotta go, makes all of your staffs lose their curves and look like grandmas. Despite Mia having one of the best enhanced body in the business, she looked like a flower pole in that uniform; the uniforms have to go. Her English is more than adequate, she is very new to the semi-legit business but I would venture a guess that she had been in a similar business. Her massage was weak, definitely the weakest of the bunch; but who needs massage skills when you have the look and she has the look. 9+/10 for looks (just a bit too much enhancement for my liking), 2/10 for deep tissue massages. In other words, if you want your masseuse to look hot, look no further; if you want your massage therapeutic, go elsewhere. Would I repeat, yes I would, she is that hot.
If you havn’t guessed already, all of the ladies wear identical pink rose flowery uniforms, no point in reviewing what they wear, definitely not the most flattering uniforms around.
Overall, YoYo is your typical semi-legit with well defined boundaries. The ladies know that they are close to TingTing, Xiao Ping, Nana’s so pricing is pretty similar, may be $5 more simply because their base is $85 not $80. Never really had to negotiate, I simply pay what I normally pay at Nana’s and there was no argument from any of the ladies.
Can any of the 4 ladies become my new regular, probably not, if only I can find that masseuse with Mia’s look, Amy’s massage skills and QiQi’s finishing touch. YMMV. I am off to the next new/shiny place with the occasional revisit. If anyone found that illusive fifth lady, do write a review here, I couldn’t find her by simply walking in. Also please note that I am only rating the ladies' massage skills based on the deep tissue massage which I requested, if you are only interested in relaxation massages, your assessment may be completely different.
