What are the uses of these? I mean why do they have three different ways to talk?

I'm a little confused as to how the Facebook chat operates. When I open the chat it shows a group of my friends, some without a green dot next to their names and a few with a green dot next to their names. Farther down the chat it shows a break that reads "More Online Friends (# of friends...

Does anyone know what it is called when you do the skype chat thing where you can see what the other person is typing before they send it? I think it might be called live chat? If anyone knows what its called and how to turn it on i'd appreciate the answer, thanks

Recently I have noticed that when I am chatting with friends on Facebook, the messages they send me do not appear unless I refresh the page every so often, and sometimes my messages do not send unless I refresh it and send it again. Does anyone know how to fix this?

So say someone sends you a BBM message, you can see who its from and part of the sentence but you don't open it, but you just go on end chat, does this make it stay as D & not R? :)
