Did you actually test positive for the virus or you got something you thought was like the virus. I know a few people who had the regular flu, they were tested, results negative, 'go home you have the flu.'
It's complicated. I was refused by our health system to be tested because they wanted to save tests for only those who were really sick. Remember this was 3 months back when no testing was really happening, and Canada was sub 100 infections. I'm still confident it was the Covid19 virus because for 2 weeks prior to getting sick I had 0 contact with anyone. Then someone I live with came back from vacation, and immediately became ill. They were tested and DID test positive for the Covid19 virus. This is the only person I had close contact with during this time. My symptoms started soon after interacting with this person. Again even after they confirmed positive I was still refused by the health system to be tested cause basically I wasn't dying, and I hadn't just traveled. I was considered high risk by the health system though and was forced to stay in quarantine with my housemate for another 2 weeks.
