Yup. This gray zone where it is illegal but not prosecuted makes no sense. It’s the worst of both worlds. It enables human trafficking, pimping, organized crime, etc. If it was legalized, it would destroy all of that and allow for better security and protection for sex workers, access to health and retirement plans, addiction treatment, etc for them. And taxation on wages and corporate profits for government. Does anybody think that the status quo is reducing demand ? Because it sure as hell isn’t.
it’s not politically popular because there is a faction of voters who are morally opposed, and think that regulating the industry = approving it. They also dont give a shit about the well-being of sex workers and think that clients like us are scumbags.
