"A former federal prosecutor leading
Justice Departmentโs investigation into the storming of the US capital building and the criminal culpability of Donald Trump in the 6 January riots that left five people dead, has said that the probe supports
sedition charges.
โI personally believe the evidence is trending toward that, and probably meets those elements,โ Michael Sherwin, the former acting attorney for District of Columbia, told CBS News. โI believe the facts do support those charges. And I think that, as we go forward, more facts will support that.โ
Mr Sherwin further said the investigation is still looking into whether former president Donald Trump is criminally responsible for the riots.
โItโs unequivocal that Trump was the magnet that brought the people to DC on the 6th. Now the question is, is he criminally culpable for everything that happened during the siege, during the breach?โ he said."
