I have no idea if the story quoted above counts as cheating or is important, but any rational fair minded person should be pissed off if it appears the media is covering this in a biased way--which it seems to me it is. Can anyone say with a straight face that the media would not give such a story more attention if we simply reversed the roles of the players here? If Trump's Republicans had been found to have broken election rules--true or not--the media would be blaring it for all they're worth. And this pattern repeats itself on every political story--big or small. This is why a recent survey found 46% of American believe the news. Even among Democrats, 18% say they don't believe what they see in the news. And it is precisely because of this kind of tribalism. The story is about broken election rules and the response is, "well the Democrats would have won anyway". Pathetic.

My response was to a very specific post in one specific state about one very specific matter: whether or not the Sate of Virginia should have counted mail-in ballots arriving after Election Day that were missing a post-mark. Do not conflate this very specific case to any issue in other states since each state sets their own election laws. That was something Ursus obviously was trying to do.

Should Virginia have counted those ballots without a post-mark arriving after the Election Day = No! But, look at the link, and the results. The count of ballots (both with post-marks (allowed) and without (not allowed)) was only some where around one thousand. Would this issue sway the election results = No! Throw out those ballots and Biden wins by 449k instead of 450k (assuming 100% were for Biden which is likely impossible to not believe Trump had votes in there too). That is why state election officials called the state for Biden. That is why the Republicans weren’t pressuring for recounts or the Republicans in the House and Senate didn’t contest the certification of that states results. No state has ever had an election that was 100.00000% free of errors or fraud (yes some states might catch 2 or 3 cheaters). They apply a materiality level to determine if the election results still produce the same outcome so saying it wouldn’t change the results is a fair statement.

Ursus is making a mountain out of a molehill on this one and attempting to use it as proof of other issues in other states. And it appears you are now trying to do the same. Since each state controls their own election process that is a misleading argument. Take that argument to a court of law and it would be thrown out for that very reason.

As for media coverage, why wasn’t the right-wing media, or a Rudy and team all over this? This issue was first raised back in October just before the election so it’s not new. Maybe, because they too thought the results would not have changed as Virginia is a solid blue state an it would be a waste of time amd money to explore. The fight was, and always is, about the purple swing states.
