A Falls Church man will spend the next 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to two violent incidents at Fairfax County massage parlors.
Mohamed Adem Tahir, 35, was sentenced last Friday (March 7) after admitting to robbing and assaulting employees at two different massage parlors.
Tahir first struck in 2021 after receiving a massage at Springfield’s Blue Therapy Massage, police said. He is believed to have physically assaulted his masseuse before strangling her unconscious, according to court documents.
When the victim awoke, Tahir dragged her into a hallway, where he encountered a second employee at the business. The second employee came to the aid of the victim, allowing her to flee, court documents said.
However, Tahir turned his attention to the second employee, who “was then assaulted and dragged into a nearby office where she had been counting money from the day’s proceeds,” according to court documents.
Tahir took money from the business and the second victim’s wallet before fleeing, police said.
A similar incident, which also saw an assault of two employees, was reported at Deep Blue Massage in Seven Corners in September 2023.
“A man armed with a handgun and taser entered the business, assaulted two employees, and stole money,” police said. “The two victims were treated for minor injuries at the scene.”
Tahir was taken into custody shortly after the incident, police said.
In all, Tahir was sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison. Only 10 years are active, meaning that if he were to violate the terms of his probation following his release, he would return and serve the remainder of his sentence.
