I wonder why Google and other mapping programs sometimes show addresses slightly in the wrong place. Is the city that doesn't assign addresses exactly by some scheme or the mapping software.

For example, on your great google map, Allure I believe is shown one driveway North of where it actually is assuming it didn't just move. I believe if you go one driveway South you see the building towards the road which is the bar/resturant and Allure is in the building further back with all the parking to the N or the longer building. But clearly unless my old age is getting to me not where it shows on the map off a different driveway just North of where it should be.

I have noticed slight location errors for various places on different mapping software and even my GPS unit has a hotel in Buffalo NY near the airport on the wrong side of the street.

GE sometimes is a little off in it's placement of adresses, but it may be that this is just a simple mistake on my part ... I will check into it an update later on today if necessary.

The mapping sites also don't place addresses offset from the street.
Deductively you'd think that 490 Yonge street would be centered be 30m west of Yonge and in reality it truly is. These billion dollars companies should be able to figure that out.
It is a problem especially when you try to zoom in on big buildings like hotels.
The satellite picture just shows the road and parking lots, not the hotel 100m from the road.

Just checked, and Camary seems to be approximately where it should be (Glen Watford.) You may be looking at an older version possibly?

Also, the updates I made yesterday were a little bit messed up ... an extra level of folders than were necessary, so I corrected that as well and re-uploaded the files.

maps.getem.ca is the new address for the maps site (it is a bit out of date but probably still useful. I am going to eventually get around to integrating my phone number / ad database with google earth so I can keep the maps up to date, but I have to think a bit on how to best go about this ... right now I'm concentrating more on how to auto-magically suck the ads from the various sources with little intervention on my part (I can now do this for Eye and TRZ, and will probably work on the Sun ads next.)
