The unemployment rate is currently at 3.5%, it's lowest ever. The Dow Jones industrial average was at 18,000. It has been hitting record after record. It currently sits at around 29,000. That's a 60% increase in 3 years. That's right the stock market has risen 60% in the 3 years since Trump took over. These are phenominal numbers. Past performance is not even close by any other of the 45 or whatever total Presidents in USA history.

The murder rate in America is extremely high in Chicago and Detroit, but extremely low in places that have open carry laws etc. So, places where it is against the law to open carry have higher murder rates than places where guns are not restricted. The numbers and results go against what you want to be the truth.

If owning guns resulted in higher crime and if not owning guns resulted in lower crime, then Detroit and Chicago would have much lower crime rates and murder rates and shooting incidents than other states like Montana, South Dakota or even Texas. More people in rural NY State have guns than NY city residents, but the murder rate with guns is much higher in NY city than in the rural areas. According to your logic, NY city should be much safer in terms of gun violence than rural NY cities where gun ownership is higher.

Last year in Florida I fired guns for the first time in my life. With one gun, a fully automatic Uzi nick-named "Little Hellraiser", I just emptied the clip. There was so much noise, smoke and fire, that after the first bullet there was no way to aim, I just held the gun in place. The chaos and destructive power amazed me. Definitely an offensive rather defensive weapon that should not be in the hands of irresponsible asshole neighbors. That said, if you want to get a gun in Canada you can. Lots of people have them for hunting and target practice. But the culture here in Canada is different. Whenever I am in the US it amazes me how scared people are of each-over.
