The Korean culture is closer to the Chinese culture.
The Japanese and their culture is more unique than the other East Asian nations.

As for Korean women being hot; that is subjective. There are hot Chinese and Japanese women too.
As for Korean women, I find a lot of them to be either too boring or too materialistic. In regards to personalities, I find that the average Japanese girl is much more friendly than the average Korean girl.

The Japanese chicks dream of white dudes because unlike white gentlemen, many Japanese dude are at best self-centered, expect his "woman" to cater his every needs (sounds like a particular type of pet), at worst many of them are male chavenistic pigs who show less respect to the women.

Having this in mind, many Japanese women would rather stay in North America, mainly in the Califronia or Hawaii than going back to the land of Rising Sun. North America and the white dudes in particular give them the opportunities to live as an equal partner, rather than taking the BS crap called the "tradition" over there.

Plus, there is less glass ceiling here in North American than in Japan and Korea, too.

Sure there are some old school Japanese guys that may think that being chauvinistic is their right in life; but there are plenty of young Japanese men who are aware of the notion of equality.

Many young Japanese men have come to North America and have adopted Western culture and thought.

I think that there are many "White Dudes" (and other North Americans of colour) have proven to be more boorish and misogynistic than their Asian counterparts.
If you want proof; just walk through the club district during the weekend.

As for employment, yeah; the glass ceiling is more prevalent in Japan; but women's rights is making headway and hopefully in time their will not be a glass ceiling for women.
There already have been some breakthroughs in Japanese society. It will come over time; as more and more Japanese women are being assertive and demanding equal rights.
