True apprentice programs do not happen in this country. Mostly useless head knowledge that is forgotten before they finish the program.

So true! Not that I've taken RMT training but I have had massages from RMT students as part of their "hands-on-training". They need a certain number of hours of this "practical" time. NONE of these sessions was there an instructor in the room to evaluate the student's technique- so what value is in it?

That is BS, I have been at two legit place this year both were $90, for one hour. One went on for an hour and 15 so I left a $20 cash tip. My private plan caps reimbursement at $100 per hour.

Where do u go? All my places charge minimum 100 + tax for an hour...i dont wanna pay out of pocket...i end up getting 40mins

I found semi legit with a lady who worked at the same legit place I used to visit before.
120 total, 1 hour she massages me and up to 1 hour I massage her if we both wish. Kind of win-win

Many legit places can not do proper deep tissue anyway, almost the same price + nice additional options, so I switched to semi legit.

I was referred to a new "therapeutic" massage place by my doc, this new place is now at $130 an hour. My discussion with my old regular legit gal is that it WAS a 60/40 split, clinic takes 60 and the masseuse keeps 40; the clinic wants to move to 65/35 or increase the rates dramatically. RMTs have some decisions to make, mine is going home base and keeping just a handful of clients; unfortunately, she will also stop direct billing (cash only) so I will likely stop going. The expectation is that we will see more home based clinics springing up as RMTs look to keep more. I am a landlord so I know why clinics have to charge more, this inflation thing is a vicious cycle.
