Massage Office Software

I am looking for advice on purchasing massage office software.  It seems there are two options...The Medical Massage Office Billing and Management System sold through AMMTA or  Massage Office 2.2 by islandsoftware.  Can you please give me any review or recommendation as to which program is more beneficial, easier to use, etc etc.

I use the island software program.  I like alot of the features it has.  I keep all my soap on paper so I don't use the soap program that it has, but besides that I like it.  We have four therapist that bill using this program.  No one has ever had a complaint.  One thing I like is that I can fill out the HCFA 1500 in about a minute.  It is great for billing.  Hope this helps.Dale

I don't know how much these programs cost, but I suspect they are an investment.  Depending on how big your practice is, I run mine right off my Palm Pilot and a few Excel worksheet for accounting purposes.  Excel is free with Microsoft software packages and my palm pilot allows me to have my schedule and client profiles with me no matter where I am.  Not to mention, they can "speak' to each other, which makes mailings a breeze.  I here that some of these programs have trouble interfacing with word processing programs which makes mailings more difficult.  Good luck.  Joe E.

Thanks for the idea of a pda, Joe...very interesting.  I still carry around paper appt book.  I have a pda phobia for some reason, but not computers...Computers are safe...probably because I can't put it in my pocket and lose it.  I would love to hear about the other software program...The Medical Massage Office Manangement System...it sounds as if it does it all, especially when dealing with insurance.  Does anyone have that program as oppossed to massage office 2.2?

You shouldn't worry about that.  The PDA backs-up to my main computer with the press of 1 button.  It's too easy.   If you lost it, you could get another and reload with the press of yet another button.  If you're planning on billing insurance, definitely find a software that will work in conjunction with the necessary forms.  Joe E.

I am interested in finding plain old software with forms (client intake, SOAP notes, charts, etc) without all the insurance stuff.  I don't deal with that at the salon and at the Dr's office he handles the insurance claims.

Massage Office Software 2.2 is a great beginners package of software, however, they are coming out with a Pro version in a few weeks that is amazing! I have researched both the Medical Massage Software and Massage Office Software and by far the new version is the best.Also, if you purchase the Massage Office 2.2 version before the new version comes out you can upgrade to the Pro version for only $49, a savings of $150.They should be coming out with new demos on Island Softwares website.Colleen S. I am a massage therapy instructor and we use a program called Customer Pro File in our massage clinic.The website is   http://www.landsw.comTo me they are the best for the least.  They offer soap note, insurance billing, client management,  marketing, financial management, etc for individuals and clinics for very affordable rates. You can even download the software once you have paid through pay pal.  The prices range from $49 for individuals without insurance billing to $109 for small clinics with multiple therapist that use insurance billing.You can even download a trial version.

Thank you, I just so happen to receive the land software demo in the mail yesterday afternoon.  It definitely seems to have the most bang for the buck.  Their graphics are not what island software is...other than that it seems the equivalent for a heck of a lot less.  It's available through http://info4people.com/ for $59 through $129 depending on insurance acceptance and multiple therapist (clinic)

Hi all, I am the president of Island Software Company and I just had a few words about the postings. There are a few packages available out there that wait to see what we do and then try to mimic the features. This we can show by copyright dates. We have been developing our product since 1995 and we own a wellness center in Dallas, Tx. We refuse to sell our software by bashing someone elses product. I would advise anyone who is looking to purchase a package to do 3 things: first, try to enter bad data into different fields (eg; enter "Bob" in a phone # field) and see if it will let you. Enter an invoice and then delete it and see if it let's you. Second, call the other peoples offices 3 times at different times during the day and see if you get an answer. (all of our developers work for us IN-HOUSE. not for some outside company. we are NOT a one-man show.) Third, ask any of the other companies if they have to use their own software on a daily basis to run their business. (Half of our staff are massage therapists and we use our product every day in our own center). Our software was NOT written for some other industry and then "kind-of" reworked to accomodate the massage industry. Our product is the MOST stable and user friendly software available. Don't take my word for it, try the demos of other products and REALLY compare features and usability.

Hey there...new to this message board. Glad to have found it!

I'm not sure how much I want to computerize my practice, so these full-scale office programs seem overkill for my needs.

I am doing L&I and PIP claims and would like to be able to print out HCFA forms on my computer. I've found a couple programs for this:

more comprehensive than what I want, but the demo prints the forms very well and you can link up with Quickbooks, which I will be starting later this year.

http://www.easyhcfa.com/    $43.50 individual, $98.50 groupvery basic template for MS Word that can come customized to have certain fields always filled out

The EZCLAIM program has a "printer adjustment" feature that can move the print in 1/100 of an inch increments so that the text prints squarely in the fields. Not sure if the EASYHCFA program has such an option.

Anyone know of a template/program for WA state L&I green forms (statement for misc services)?
