As someone against lockdowns, even I have to ask those who share my views what exactly they propose as a solution to these restrictions? If it isn't the vax, what is it? I sure as hell cannot live the rest of my life in secrecy and defiance of every bylaw thrown my way just to spite the government. Based on conversations I've had with some of these guys, it seems like they would rather be in perpetual lockdown than take the vax. They would rather bitch about it for the rest of their lives than take the shot. Me personally, I can't live like that forever. As you pointed out, the risks are outweighed by the rewards. More have suffered from the virus and its effect on society than they have from the vax.

Truthfully the ICU numbers are not astronomical the problem is the low capacity in ICUs, and due to staffing shortages the healthcare system has a problem in scaling up capacity.

Exceed that capacity and they’ll have to resort to triage and select who is treated and who isn’t. Death rates would rise and that is what is scaring everyone.
