Any predictions for when spas will reopen? I have never been and am planning to go for my first time.

Aug/Sept if all goes according to the provincial schedule as planned.

depends on financial situation, some mpas may wait and sit it out for awhile. Garbage will waste no time getting back in. Heck I wouldn't be surprise if some are working at apartments incalls right now.

Please stop posting misleading information.

Most of the deaths are seniors in nursing homes, yes, but not because of poor lockdown procedures.

If someone is 85 years old and confined to a nursing home, it is because they are close to death anyways. Nothing to do with a lack of lockdown practices.

Average life expectancy in Canada is only 82 - 83 anyways.

Some of those 85 year olds can still live another 10 years. Any 35 year old can die tomorrow. You're philosophy doesn't hold water.

Think about it.

Average life expectancy is just that exactly. It averages out the ages of all deaths. It doesn't mean everyone will die at 80. Some people die at 40, some die at 100, some people die at 25.

I have personally known people who have died barely over 40, and also lots of people who lived in their 90's.

80-82 is just an average. You'd be surprised to find out how many people there are in old age homes that are well into their 90's and still doing ok. They just can't do their own meals and household chores anymore. So they go to retirement homes. It doesn't mean they'll all be dieing tomorrow.

I wasn't questioning why the lockdown happened. I am stating that they knew unemployment would be high from the start and that the lockdown would last for a while. Hence Trudeau's speech that this is going to be the new normal for awhile and don't expect things to get back to normal. Also the fact that all summer events are cancelled.

I get what you are saying. They are spending a lot of money on this. But They don't have a choice. We are already seeing what happens if cities open up too soon. with examples from Korea who now went back to shutdown and I am sure america because that is going to be a huge mess by next month. Wth airlines still packing people in planes and stores not following rules. The news isn't showing how hard some of the southern states are getting hit. everyone thinks it's just New York...it's not.

who knows what is going to happen at this point. Community spread is still happening here. grocery stores are reporting employees testing positive. The office building I work at as well as the rest on bay street are panicking. when things open back up how are they going to handle distancing? by the time we make it to our desk it's going to be the end of our work day. This virus could spread like fire very quickly

Correction, they shut them during the initial lockdown in regions they felt had a high number of cases. But claimed they had everything in control and opened everything back up in those regions which is proving that their original strategy is flawed which brings it back to what I and the rest of the world is saying. They opened everything up too early and are now paying the price.

Singapore was also praised at first for how they handled the spread but guess what they just got hit with a huge wave of cases.

Korea doesn't really test everyone read up on "patient 31". I have friends in Korea they all told me they never really had anything under control and just put on an act and lied because the world was praising them for handling it well when in fact they did not. So in order to keep the lie going they encouraged people to go out and shop which they called it "revenge shopping". which had now proven to be a foolish idea.

well depending on the region in korea spas might be open but those aren't areas to get good looking girls lol. It's like saying oshawa has spas open and they only have ugly oshawa MPAs there. Not something to really be happy about haahaa.

Dumb comment - more like an assumption on my part - ok - he can listen to your advice, take over friend... That's right get him into the business early, become a lifelong customer- drain his bank accounts - get him into the seedy life of massage parlors forever - and how do you know he has a girlfriend or not? - so your advice to people younger than you is go to a spa and get laid? I'm glad I was raised better than that to steer someone down this path - until he answers my post. I would reserve judgement. My comment on getting a girlfriend is intended for ASAP, not now!! and in case you don't know or don't have enough experience, girlfriends can be made anytime!!! I'm currently working on a non-spa lady as we speak - Every time i go to my LCBO, and most recently, yesterday, making moves on the cashier girl. One of my civie Asian gfriends just contacted me today, shes a tough nut to crack but I'm still trying by asking her out for coffee - you actually sound very petty calling my comments dumb. Like are you jealous? Are you a spa owner trying to get someone hooked? One of my best buds in Virginia is travelling all over the states, golfing every weekend in a different state. I'm jealous of that but happy for him. My son is almost 25 and I would never, never in my life, advise him to go to spas and I would tell him the exact same thing - find a girlfriend, even during covid if you have to because when one door closes, another opens. And closed mouths don't get fed. When I was 18 I used to go to topless joints every other night. You know what happened? - I ended up broke and almost homeless at 19. I know about addictions, and from drinking and going out too much. I'm sure happier that I can share good times of my life as opposed to saying, all I did was go to spas in my 20's. That's not winning, that's fucking losing my friend, losing period. And I was loser when i was 19. Thank god there was no internet then...
I reiterate, if my 23 old son came to me with the same question, 'Dad, where do I go to get a body slide?", Id smack him in the head!!- I would tell him the exact same thing even if its seed planting and he goes out and does his own thing, I've done my part.. The fact you're flying off the handle about getting hooked having sex with MPA's and losing all money etc only further proves my point. This isn't the dating advice from some washed up massage parlour addict board. No one needs to be told what to do here outside of any questions specific to the topic at hand.

Legally September to December. Illegally July/August. Causing the pandemic to spike. Contact tracing and tracking then leading too fines and possible jail. Funny but this will happen.
One girl sees her first client that may be asymptomatic or she may be asymptomatic. She then sees another 8 men on shift. Those 8 men affect family, friends and colleagues. Those then affect their FFC and the story continues. Back into lockdown by fall in second wave.
One affected asymptomatic person can transmit to 406 people in 30 days through community transmission. Let's continue thinking with our Dicks and reopen in July

Predicting when spas will be open, will be predicated a lot by what happens in other provinces reopenings... Another factor for us in Ontario will be how other jurisdictions which will certainly open their massage facilities before we do..... How they handle the protocols and guidelines and if any significant spikes in cases occur... Manitoba is looking to open RMT establishments in a couple of weeks

Hindsight is 20/20. With what we know now, if we could go back in time things would be done very differently: only quarantine older people and sick people, encourage when possible people to work from home but do not require it, encourage frequent hand washing, social distancing when possible, quickly develop testing and deploy it widely, restrict travel from/to only countries that are hotbeds for the virus, etc, but otherwise do not shut down the economy. In the beginning all we knew is that there was a virus that spread very quickly, made 20% of people very sick, and killed about 4% of people. What we know now is that the virus spread much more quickly than we thought, which means the percentage of people who get very sick or die is much smaller, and the virus is a much smaller risk to majority of people. It will be interesting to compare the outcomes in "careful" countries to the outcomes in countries like Brazil that have done very little to contain COVID-19.

I was calling for not closing things down from the start. Its called basic logic and reasoning.

You cant shut down the economy everytime things get difficult. The economy is the only reason you can deal with difficult times. Studying Zimbabwe or Venezuela if you dont believe my words once again.

These may all be lumped together for opening dates- nail salons, hair cutting places, RMT'S, and the spas that we talk about here. None may be real soon.

The bigger question is when will you be comfortable going? For those really in need of a massage they are available now. Some on here have written about their adventures and been castigated for it. If the government permitted the spas to open today how many would be willing to go? The government granting permission does not make it more safe. They will simply be issuing guidelines on opening. It doesn't mean you will not get sick (just less likely to get sick). I think most people (attendants included) will take a wait and see approach. People will likely watch to see if the number of cases increases as things open up and I think an increase in infections can be expected and that doesn't even factor in a possible increase come fall and winter during the regular flu season. Short of a vaccine I do not see things returning any time soon. I am fortunate enough to have an arrangement with an MPA (semi-legit only) that has allowed me to continue my massage visits unabated (I understand that for many this is reckless behavior on both are parts but the situation is rather unique). If the spas open and she returns to work at the spas I would have to reconsider seeing her at all due to the increased likelihood of her catching the illness from others.

I will go the first day things reopen. I could care less about Covid. Its a scam.

That means you have a 1 in 100,000 of dying from Covid.

You have a better chance of getting HIV than you have of dying from Covid.

You were the only one? lol. My lady told me the same thing. She told me I will be the only one she is thinking of seeing and she told me she hasn't been out of the house for 20 days. I did a little home work before I set up a date and found out from her boss she was with another guy at the spa just 3 days ago...lol.
