Agree,(spes RH)sometimes i wonder where the quality come from,always plays the same tunes,same tracks,same bands.
I meen if you like old good rock how difficult can it be not to play the same tunes as everybody else night after night

Probebly because they dont know better and are just told this is the thing to play over and over again.

Weel, I have been going since 1991 to Roch Hard, Dooleys, Rock Country, Joes, Rio and whatever they called it, and for me it is still the best gogo in Patong. Must say in the early 90's found it one of the better ones in Thailand, better than the Pattaya and Patpong stuff (My fav in Patpong was Goldfinger), but know I rate Patts and BKK gogo's higher than Phuket.
Have know a lot of managers passing, like Little Larry and Karen, Ira, and of course the Big Bill (the Wizzard).

Im sure Wayne will do fine as long as Larry leaves him alone to do what needs to be done.
Good for Jeff, I hope he suceeds with his gogo bar, but for starters, he needs to lay off the sauce, thats his biggest downfall. Funny it should be called Roxy, Im put the finishin touches on the design for a 3 level club by the same name !!! It will open next month. We've spent 260,000 USD on the sound system just for the main floor. All is well in HK for the time being, still miss thailand though. Maybe see you for Thai New years !

The music really can make or break a place, when i ran a place in Cowboy, stopping the Boney M and Dr Alban and euro pop and thai/lao music and moving to the Stones, Bowie, Black Crowes, Chilli Peppers etc, made a huge difference to how long people stay - ps i was 22 then back in 92 so not an age thing - peope can lose themselves and have their mood affected by such things - hence sitting in many go go's these days is quite painful, especially when the dj starts talking over the songs ! RH was the place i started hanging out at back in the 90's, Extasy too - for girls id figure that out later, after hours was always my thing, long for the days of Saloon Bar and Night Moves, shame that's all gone now. Anyone else here remember the Saloon bar fun and games ?

The place has totally has lost it. After larry had to sell off RIO the first floor because of money problems........As far as Big Bill, I wish you were still the DJ
Maybe Rock hardless will become a SIZZLER salad bar place the near future or as fate will have it,,, Larry will lose the entire location. wouldnt that be called KARMA?

cwelec....so you've dealt with the public was that the sober or Stewed Public , you refer to working with.....Luckily in my 20yrs. in the Go-Go mgt. biz in Thailand , I've only been in 1/2 a dozen small skirmishes , only blows 1 time at Goldfingers...after closing....Thanks for the comps Woodsie ! , I'd love to come out of retirement , if anyone would have me !!! I only relate what I was told about the opening date , SpaZ don't judge a book or bar by its cover.....but I agree ,I'd be surprised if that date stansds ....I'm sure with Song Kran ,not alot of work got done then....BB
