From your conjecture, you obviously buy into the stereotype that the other pablum fed mindless masses do. If you had any real knowledge or stopped to think, you'd know that there are many types of hobbyists with a wide variety of reasons.

Besides, your logic is totally skewed. It's entirely feasible that someone who is "frugal" would also fit the physical "profile" you so kindly presented us with. Then take someone who is considered relatively good looking, whose motive for hobbying is due to convenience, marriage or other reasons and they are merely willing to pay the price for the services they want. Remember, a deal is not a deal if you aren't satisfied.

By attempting to belittle others, you're wearing your own insecurity on your sleeve for all to see. ( yes, you could say the same about my post )

Must admit, very nice service. But I can turn the shower on myself and get the temperature correct.

For my last 4 MPA visits, I have looked at SRM, and turned my head.

Obviously you are not going to reduce, and I am sure SRM won't feel the heat for some time to come. But eventually, anything that goes up, must go down. This would be it for SRM.

Micron, don't get me wrong, your services are good. But, at Platinum for example (considered high price already)

You can get a hour for $70 + BS for $120. That's only $190, not the $240 you are charging.

I am not boycotting SRM, but now my budget is thinner because I have to spend $50 extra at SRM for the same or better service I can get from an equally hot girl at Platinum or elsewhere. So you see my dilemma.

Anyway, I am not bad mouthing you in any way, best of luck to you.

Business 101 teaches that you can maintain your revenues if you control the price. Increase the price, see reduction in business (customers), but profits/revenue stays the same. Reduce the price, and see increase in business (customers), but profits/revenue stays the same. All I can see from this venture is the girls get to relax more, and perhaps spend more time with their clients. Probably not bad for the Spa because you probably get more 30 minute customers, thus higher revenue.

You know what. While reading this thread, I've noticed alot of names that I havn't seen before. Is it possible that I may be wrong and massageplanet.net does have a larger influence in this industry than I thought? The prices came back down. Micron actually listened to what you people have to say. Hmmm. And GIMME, good outlook on that whole profit example. I didn't relly see it that way before. But it make alot of sense.

I've never understood why the per minute rate at most MP's is the same instead of being discounted for longer times, like an hour. It is much more efficient I would think to encourge longer sessions with the client instead of more clean up time, being sure are booked back to back with customers etc.

The only saving grace... for me.. is that most of the top places, I've never been pressured for time and often go over the official time. If the longer sessions had less per minute rates there could be less of this. For what I enjoy (NR) with my 10 minute reverse technques its impossible to do in a 30 minutes (plus the fact I am very long lasting on the finish which is not by choice and often a disadvantage).

But it would be more fair to all to have time limits more strict, but have declining per minute rates for longer sessions to encourge them.

Fortunately I travel to different cities and often get great massage in cities less expensive. Yet I also support the free enterprise system of charging whatever the market will bare (pardon pun) to still get as many customers as you want.

From the MPA's view, its better to have the high paying clients over us cheap skates, as long as there are enough willing to pay the higher fees and have the MP and MPA earn what they wish for the hours involved.

Not much of an incentive to go for the full hour here.

There is a restaurant called Fantasy Inn. They charge a door fee to come in to sit at a nice table. The door fee is charged depending upon how long you want to stay. A 30 minute sitting is $40.00 and a 60 minute sitting is $60.00. If you decide to sit for a 30 minute time limit, you choose one item on the menu. If you decide to stay for an hour, you must choose a meal and desert.

Once you pay your sitting fee, you are led to your table. They give you a menu. On the meal menu they have:

$40.00 for a hot dog
$50.00 for a hamburger
$60.00 for a hamburger, fries and a coke
$100.00 for a steak, baked potato and veggies

If you are sitting for an hour you must choose one of the meals above as well as a desert from the list below:

$40.00 for muffins
$50.00 for ice cream
$60.00 for pastries with strawberries
$100.00 for cheese cake and coffee

Maybe you decide that after your steak dinner you are too full to have a piece of cheese cake so instead you decide to have a steak dinner with muffins which would cost you $60.00(hour sitting)+$100.00(steak dinner)+$40.00(muffins)=$200 total.

You might decide instead to have a hamburger with pastries which would cost you $60.00(hour sitting)+$50.00(hamburger)+$60.00(pastries)=$170.00 total.

You might even decide to have two orders of pastries with strawberries instead! $60.00(sitting fee)+$60.00x2(2 pastries with strawberries)=$180.00

The restaurant does not say that you must have steak and cheese cake – you can have a mix or a match of any two. If I was to go to this restaurant and be convinced to have steak and cheese cake I would expect that my desert would be served to me separately - which would mean my waitress would be coming twice to my table.

And now if you compare the prices on the SRM site to those in the 1st message you will notice that Micron dropped the prices for the 1hr B/S and S/M. They were actually hanging new rate charts in the rooms on Tuesday.

And for me the NR rate remains the same..... So why am I even in this thread. I guess to help prove a point that she listens to massageplanet.net's and takes action to keep us happy ....

Oh man.

Either you pay the new prices, or you don't.

There's no need to get bent out of shape over it. I agree it feels good to get frustration out, but in the end, everyone is going to vote with their wallets and SRM will stay in or go out of business.

And these prices are the same as IT was charging a year ago, at least for the hour BS. They're not incredibly out of line, especially if SRM is as well-run and set-up as IT is. (I've never been, so I can't say one way or the other.)

Yeah, well Fantasy Inn is all very nice, but in the REAL world, INDN_LOVER earns $36.42 / hr BEFORE taxes....

I'm single and my overheads are fairly inexpensive, but there's still a point where enough is enough...

Sometimes I feel the girls in "the business" lose all touch with economic reality.

MPA and client are a symbiotic relationship whereby we enjoy the MPA's services, and the girls earn a living...

The MP's are certainly free to charge whatever price the market will handle, but as a client I can use my democratic right to either stop visiting or go somewhere else...

For the last 8 months I've spent anywhere between $1000-$1500 per MONTH on MPA's, but I'm starting to think that perhaps I should be driving a 5 series BMW and visiting once per month...

There are psychological reasons why stores charge $1.99 rather than $2.00 for a product and MP's better wake up and smell the coffee...

AHEM.....With all do respect Simon, if you choose to quote me, use my exact words.

I wasn't targeting anyone in particular with that comment, nor was I judging them on "WHY" anyone goes to MP's - unlike yourself.

We all know WHY we go to MP's. We have needs, no matter what they may be and you should not pre-judge anyone as to WHY they go. You don't know them to comment for them. The MPA's are there to fulfill our needs. Plain and Simple.

It was sort of a put your feet in their shoes for a minute comment that I was making.
