The key word in several of the above post, treat them nicely!!! That includes not paying the minimum and demanding the maximum. I am frequently surprised at responses and posts here comparing prices without considering services. I frequently overpay after a good session but I frequently received more than my fair share of time and services on subsequent visits. Probably why my sessions with key people like V are much longer than your typical hour and like many of V’s regulars, V was far more than a masseuse to me.

Regarding Cambodia, you will find many American or Australian expat posts all over the internet about how new tourists (mainly from China) are driving up prices in Cambodia, why would a lady want $5 an hour from an expat when she can get a much fairer $20 from a tourist?

Overseas, I try to treat every lady nicely, I tip generously, in Cambodia, sometimes double the normal rate. Before you bark, a typical session is $20CAD, what is another $20CAD in tip for the good ones. I like to show my appreciation to how friendly some of them are, also with the extra tip, it usually make arranging for repeat visits easier too.

First you grumble about "new tourists" driving up prices (tipping excessively?) and then brag about overpaying for good service!

It's big shots like you that are driving up the prices. You make the providers think Alberta is redneck country full of rich oil people ready and willing to pay higher prices. Just sayin'...

I know reading is generally not a strong suit for rednecks, please read my post more carefully, I specifically use the term "fairer" price. I will proudly say that I frequently intentionally overpay if a lady is nice. Certain expats who live there would consider it a badge of honor to get away with paying a lady as little as $5, whereas I consider them borderline scumbags taking advantages of locals. Most of the ladies are so nice that they wouldn't ask for more, the would just take whatever you hand them. I just pay whatever I think is fair because I can; and I don't give a hoot about cheapskate expats who think the standard should stay at the $5 a session level for ever and ever.

Trust me, no one would lump me in with a redneck from Alberta, I don't look or dress the part; and I most certainly do not think I am a better human being than those who live elsewhere in the world.

As for what the Chinese are doing over there, over the past few years, about 50 new government sanctioned hotels/casinos have been built, there is now daily flights and ferries from China for tourists. Americans/Aussies expats who live there are complaining that prices are going up and paradise is being ruined. I am sad that the place is no long the beach front paradise that it once was but I am happy that the locals are getting better opportunities.

OK- I re-read your post and offer apologies about the situation in Cambodia. I would have to agree mostly.

But I still think the issue with providers asking big bucks here in Edmonton is due in part to guys overly willing to shell out the big bucks. But then I'm a believer in the laws of supply and demand. Although when it comes to matters of sex, the wrong "head" seems to skew that logic...

I 100% agree! There is no reason why our prices are higher than those of Toronto or Vancouver, but then, Calgary is even higher. I think it is generally a lack of "supply" which permits the marginal ladies to ask for the same price as the premium ones. The question really is, why are there dozens, if not hundreds of establishments in Vancouver and we only have a handful?

Yep, it's simple supply and demand. The "supply" of ladies in Edmonton is very low compared to places like Vancouver and Toronto (blame our weather I guess). The "demand" of horny dudes with lots of extra cash in Edmonton is very high (just look at the view counts on some of the threads here). Hence the prices here will be much higher than Van or Toronto simply because the ladies can charge more and guys will pay it.

Maybe because of places like kijiji that won't let them advertize? (Laura, for example...) I'm not sure what exactly is the problem with Laura advertizing with them. Guys blame the competition but that seems too simplistic. I'm sure half the "masseuses" on there are running the same type of operation without a proper massage license.

I think it boils down to Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal are gateway cities where new immigrants land and most just stay there

It's great rmg apologized. But, this is what I mean about dumping on me "creating drama". Everyone is guilty of it....and it isn't just long term members on newbies... it's long term members on long term members.

I get told to air my beefs in private...but, on this board (and all others), it isn't the popular way of dealing with these differences of opinion.

And like Qster did: if someone insults me publicly, I will respond publicly. But, a p.m. message would have been the best way to express a disagreement with his, or any of my opinions, or choices.

Does the board really need to hear someone accused of being a "big shot" and "talking out of both sides of his mouth" or the other labelled as a "redneck", and then be exposed to a potential back and forth feud?
