If the government really wants to beat covid, they would bring in drugs for early treatment as quickly as possible. In fact, these drugs have been readily available for some time now, but for some strange reason been withheld from use. It's not true vaccines are the only option we have. There are people who will not take them under any circumstances because they consider them too dangerous, no matter what the government propaganda says. Alternative drugs will keep people out of the ICU and should be used if the govt is truly concerned and isn't just acting as a mouthpiece for the vaccine manufacturers.

The vaccines have a well-proven track record of producing blood clots and killing people. Alternative drugs like Ivermectin have been in use for decades against other diseases. They don't produce blood clots, and are therefore a lot safer.

If people are hesitant or doubt the efficacy, then I don't think they understand what's happening around them. Now, I don't address this to those who maintain it's all a lie. If you are among those who do not believe the numbers are real, then we don't have a basis for conversation. But if you are not putting it all down to conspiracy, then the fact an increasing number of covid cases are among the vaxxed should not come as a surprise. With an ever increasing portion of the population vaccinated, it stands to reason that of those who will be infected are the vaxxed . After all, as I've said before, if the vaccine truly is even 95% effective, that still translates into hundreds of thousands of probable cases in Canada alone. What one should keep an eye on is the development of serious covid cases among the vaxxed, and so far, that's incredibly low. The last I heard, if you're double vaxxed you have a one in 27000 chance of getting seriously ill or dying from covid. What about the unvaxxed? Will, there's no point in discussing them. We already know what the virus and its variants do in unvaccinated populations. If you don't want the vaccine, well that's your choice.

The numbers tell the story. Using the U.S. as an example, deaths are at about 300 per day and the unvaccinated comprise more than 99.9% of those. In Ontario we had two covid deaths yesterday. The vaccine works. That's your story.

.....the most recent data posted on Friday (in Ontario) showed 11 people in general hospital wards due to COVID-19 were fully vaccinated while 74 were either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated. For those in ICUs, one was fully vaccinated while 57 were unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

I again want to stress, vaccination helps but not 100% therefore we should still need to take precautions, including wearing a mask in an enclosed area. I have taken the vaccine and I believe everyone should do it. It at least helps to reduce the harm by COVID 19, in case you have it. It's worrisome that one fully vaccinated still ended up in ICU last Friday. I think the only way to put this pandemic behind us is when we have a drug that can effectively cure the illness. Merck is doing a 3 stage trial on one for treating less severe COVID 19 cases. I hope it will be successful and gets to the market soon.

You are saying you don’t want to do stuff? You enjoy the lockdowns? If you read my latest post, I definitely did direct my frustration at the government. They made a mess out of everything. It sucks but in the end, we will still not get any further ahead by harping on the government alone. The numbers are changing, and they are affecting those who are not protected at pretty much exactly the rate that the projected vaccine efficacy was advertised at. So, we can all be mad at the government…. But we still have a problem. The fact is that it is affecting one group approximately 80-90% more. So, while we sit here and bicker back and forth about who fucked up what, people are getting sick, and the numbers that are driving the reopening or re-closing of the province/country are headed in the wrong direction. How is any of this arguing going to actually fix anything ? For those who oppose the vaccine based solution for how to beat Covid, I ask you this….

What do you think the solution is? It is very apparent that the whole world is gripped by this thing. Some countries are far more lucky than others to have the funds and the infrastructure to procure enough vaccines to protect their populations but many if not most haven’t. If vaccines aren’t the answer, what is?

I read the desertreview.com article, and it's written as if everyone in India is on Invermectin, however there is zero data in it as to how many people actually took it, so one should be cautious about drawing cause and effect conclusions. Also read the comments under the article, and there are a bunch of comments in there which call the article BS.

And who is the desertreview.com, located in Brawley California, basically in the middle of nowhere? To you they're a more reliable source that the FDA?

As for Invermectin, its purpose is for treatment of parasites, not viruses, primarily in animals. And a parasite is not a virus.

It's totally correct. There is scientific consensus, backed by data from everywhere. Covid vaccinations dramatically lower your chances of catching covid, and well as dramatically lowering your odds of being hospitalized or dying if you get a breakthrough infection.

You can find renegade scientists who will disagree with anything. There are scientists who disagree with evolution and argue humans co-existed with dinosaurs etc. Scientific consensus does not require unanimity.

Despite getting my 7th Covid shot last Oct. 16 I contracted Covid a month later. Up until then I had been Covid-free.

I'm 78, with a few co-morbidities, so I was at risk for serious Covid.

However when I did get it, it was just like a very mild head cold for a couple of days, for which I credit the vaccinations.

Because I had the rapid home test lying around I decided to test myself.

To my surprise I tested positive for Covid. No fever or other symptoms, just the sniffles.

So I called my pharmacy right way and asked for Paxlovid, which is the current treatment of choice to minimize the infection. I think the charge for the drug was less than $20.00

It is important to start Paxlovid within the first 5 days of symptoms.

So I took the full course of Paxlovid, 3 pills twice a day for 5 days. After 3 days the sniffles resolved, and after 5 days I tested negative on the home test.

HOWEVER, I am one of the 25% of people who take Paxlovid and got a rebound case with a positive test a week later. This after experiencing very mild sniffles again.

I called the pharmacy, who advised they don't prescribe a second dose of Paxlovid, and that I should expect to be Covid-free again in no more than 5 days.

Their prediction was true, and 5 days later, no more sniffles, and another negative test.

I have zero regrets about all the vaccinations I got, and thank goodness Paxlovid was available to make sure my case was mild.

Btw most people, myself included, experience a very unpleasant metallic taste in their mouths while taking Paxlovid...
