They are not gonna tell them to get ready 3 weeks in advance
I figure 5 to u days notice allows for recalls and training and setting up. Anything more than that is useless and actually expensive for the business and frustrating for employers and employees.

Yesterday they just decided to open up short term rentals. They are going to accelerate soon. Other provinces are already ahead of ontario, even that covid haven quebec is further ahead

455 new cases and 35 deaths today is not helping much. It can get worse after the rallies going on and more testings lately.

Of those 455 cases they said 65 were from delayed reporting, so actual new cases today was 390. The 65 delayed cases were probably from the 400 or so that were not included in previous numbers dating from the William Osler Health reporting screw-up. There may be more delayed results that will be folded into future numbers from that same issue, but I would think Ford will take that into account when looking at the numbers.

As to increased spread due to the protests, etc., that may indeed be a problem and slow down the re-openings.

Regardless of economy, budget balancing, pandemic, etc etc, the oldest profession is here to sustain.. just give it some time.. if too many people are too impatient, it will only drive up the price

Wouldnt get your hopes up. Government doesnt care whether spas ever open again. They are bottom of the list. Even if hair and nail places are in the next phase holistic places could still be delayed to phase 3.

It's in country's best interest to balance budgets. Pun intended. When budgets are not balanced, the taxpayers are paying more in interest. I would rather have my money spent on road infrastructure, heath care, disease control. When we are paying interest on top of interest, we don't gain traction.

That's why unrestricted borrowing isn't a great idea, but not a reason to avoid sovereign debt, especially at the rates prudent governments can receive. We're a fortunate country, our finances are in decent shape (and would have been better if the HST cut under Harper was 1% not 2%). The debt horizon for governments can and should be a lot longer than the 5-10 years of the average householder.

I don't like the idea of paying interest on debt. That money can be of better use to lower our taxes. The economy can improve and grow when taxes are reduced. It's been proven that when a consumer has more money in his pocket, he will spend more, and that helps everyone.

I am not sure about Canada but in the US it may be time for a new FDR. The infrastructure in the US needs serious attention - that country would benefit from extensive public works programs.

The road infrastructure in the US have been falling apart for the last 40 years. The politicians there are too scared to raise taxes.
