The biggest problem we face is that our society is getting dumber and dumber every day. People with an agenda are manipulating the facts and lazy ass people take it as truth and spread it like a virus. If people just did a little bit of research before posting they wouldn’t look stupid. It took me one minute to question the position that Biden is a racist and find that link. It’s not hard and doesn’t take much effort. Both sides do it (Right and Left) and they count on a dumb population they can manipulate.

This irks me to no end. This is the next era of slavery. Not slavery of the body but slavery of the mind. This isn’t a new concept but it’s so much easier now with the internet and social media giving everyone the ability to do it whereas before you needed access to and the ability to distribute information over the TV, radio or have access to a printing press. Worst yet, people are actually doing this to themselves because they won’t put in the effort to dig into the facts just a tiny little bit. If you don’t have some healthy scepticism and just take things and information as they are presented then you are a enslaving your own mind and doing it willingly.

To repeat an observation often made, YouTube, Facebook, etc., keep our attention by suggesting material that we respond to rather than curating a balance of opinions. It makes it too easy to live in a bubble. This is all very new and we as a society have not yet adapted. The extent to which we are manipulated is vast. I do not think there is much in the way of overt evil, but evil results from the different players acting only in their self-interest - YouTube, etc., are in the business of selling advertising, so their interest is to keep you on their site, and anything good or bad that results from that is of no consequence to them. Such moral lapses are hard to resist with billions of dollars in play.

Since it will take a while to count all the mail-in votes (which will include more Democrats who choose to avoid the risk of COVID in person) Trump will declare victory early. Then if the votes show that Biden actually won his followers will feel even more like it has been stolen from them.

The best case scenario is that Biden wins in such numbers that there's no doubt. If there is violence, you want the guy who sees violent Civil War as a negative to have the backing of the military.

Behind the Bastards is great. I haven't listened to Worst Year Ever yet. I liked his take in "It Could Happen Here" about how many armed Democrats there are. Most on the left aren't against the 2nd Amendment, but just dont want lunatics having Assault Rifles to shoot up schools.

If there is actually a civil war, it's going to be most important what the actual US Military does since no group of armed civillians could stand against them. The military brass sees Trump at best as a clown and at worst as a threat to the Republic. They would resist any calls for firing on US civilians and would only back him if he won in a blowout. Before the military steps in to quell a conflict between rival groups of armed civilian protestors, the biggest factor would be which side has actual weapons training and strategy (ie military veterans). Trump has lost a lot of support from veterans who would normally skew more right-wing.

Because it is a choice between a person with lots of personal problems, but whose policies i can live with...and a party that has basically subscribed to the view that if you are white, you are racist, that people should be able to come into the country at will and receive health care, that trillions and trillions of dollars should immediately be spent on scientifically questionable projects to battle climate change....and I could go on.
