For me it's unenthusiastic dancers like in Rock Hard....

There is nothing entertaining about watching some girl shuffle from side to side whilst looking at herself in a mirror...

On the other side of the coin there is somewhere like Casanovys or Happy a gogo in Patts . In both of these the dancers really interact with each other and are obviously having great fun. Think the fact they like the music helps, or the big bucket of booze at the end of the seforum.xxxe...

How many did you see the barman trying to just give you a glass full of ice and a litle soft drink, trying to squeeze another drink for the next customer out of the same tin. Some nice profit for them. Then you have to demand the whole tin.

Alternatively, tell the woman that you won't pay for a ladies drink, but, will give her 50 Baht in cash in lieu of the drink. She will be happy with that.

I am kind of in line with LIL here. Yes, there are certain annoyances that I’d rather be without (*) but in a place like Phuket / Patong there are bound to be plenty of scams going around. Best thing by far is just to ignore them and never return. Mai pen rai.

On the upside you have gorgeous girls literally throwing themselves at your feet for a price that wouldn’t even cover one day of grocery shopping back home. Yes, you might get some bad apples in the bag one day, but no point in harping on it or even demand a refund. Just move on and write it off as a bad investment. There’s always a certain risk involved when the deal sounds too good to be true.

Personally, I’ve found about a dozen places that suit me and where I know I won’t get stiffed. Then once in awhile wander into unchartered territories.

(* One thing I can never get used to though are toilet attendances or whatever the PC correct term is these days. A guy rubbing my back whilst taking a piss? No thank-you-so-very-much. And yes, even after being obscenely drunk I am still perfectly capable of grabbing a piece of tissue to wipe my hands with. Arrrgh!)

Although I'm not sure it would qualify as a "customer service" problem, one thing that does bother me in a bar is if the seating is uncomfortable. If nothing else, at least make it comfortable enough for me to sit around for a while. How hard can it be to find reasonably comfortable seats?

Otherwise, it can be annoying if some girl attaches herself to you the minute you walk in the door, asking for a lady drink. And if three of her friends also show up wanting drinks, then what? Rather than deal with all that, it's often easier just to get up and go to another bar. I't not that I'm a Cheap Charlie, but buying three or four or five drinks at a time can get expensive.

On the other hand, I don't really like to go into a bar and feel that I'm invisible. I guess there's a happy medium somewhere.
Don't ignore me, but don't make me put up with three or four girls, all wanting drinks 30 seconds after I walk in the door.

I have been reading through some of the threads and i came across this one about Patong and the attitudes of the BG's and bar owners towards the customers and from what i've read it seems that a lot of BM 's are very pissed off about how they are treated in Patong- which I can perfectly understand , I mean WhoTF wants to travel halfway around the world to get scammed and ripped off and be treated like shit.I am just surprised by the response to the thread as there is a lot of contributors to the thread.If it is that bad why bother going I ask my-self.I have been to BKK and Pattaya a couple of times in the last 2 years and enjoyed every minute of it.I like to think that i have the smarts and that I can see the scamming going on but at the same time I'm on holiday so I'm a bit more relaxed about things and maybe not as vigilant as usual.I am thinking of going to Patong in October - booked the flights about a month ago but this shit kinda makes me think if I should forget about Patong and head to Samui or some where else.What do you think guys?

Agreed.... I'll be generous anyway thers no need for them to press on lookin for freebies all the time, I know they're just tryin to make a few bob for themselves but sometimes they're just way too pushy

Sometimes she doesnt even have to ask, its just there close proximity sometimes lookin up in your face while you buy mamma a drink,begrudgingly, as if to say, where the funk is mine, ya know..Realy winds me up, but at the same time, i usually cave, but only in my most regular of bars..anywhere other than there, and its good luck ta ya..

About lady drinks, I hate the idea of 2-tier pricing: the lady drinks at Snake Bar (soi Tiger) are 170 for a lady drink and 200 for lady "dance" drink. It is the first time I've seen that for drinks --- and honestly, 170 baht isn't expensive enough?
